Prebiotic sodas are everywhere now, and some are downright delicious. I mean, I’m not even a huge soda fan and I was blown away by how good Olipop’s prebiotic sodas are the first time I cracked open a can and took a taste. They’re just as sweet and drinkable as your average can of cola — and now, there’s a whole rainbow of flavors, including seasonal hits like Olipop’s very own Crisp Apple (which, pro tip, is sold in a 24-pack at Costco right now).

This fall, though, I’m trying a different fiber-filled soda. I’m headed to Trader Joe’s to pick up cans of the store’s own branded prebiotic sodas. Specifically, I’m stocking up on the newest flavor: Trader Joe’s Apple Prebiotic Soda.

Trader Joe’s Apple Prebiotic Soda Is a Decent Olipop Dupe

According to Reddit users, Trader Joe’s new Apple Prebiotic Soda is one you don’t want to skip if you’re already an Olipop fan.

It’s not the first in Trader Joe’s prebiotic soda lineup; other flavors have debuted and, well, kind of fallen flat. Take the Root Beer or Cherry Cola Probiotic Sodas from TJ’s, for example. Their flavor was somewhat weak and didn’t taste like a true soda a la many of Olipop’s own flavors. But apple is changing the game.

The new autumnal apple soda is “exceptional” according to those who’ve tasted it. In fact, one Reddit user summed the drink up as so good that “my only regret is not grabbing more.” Other shoppers enjoyed the crisp apple beverage so much that, as they said, “I need 14 of them right now” and “I’m going to buy out the entire supply of these when I go to the store tomorrow.”

It’s so tasty that it’s quickly becoming the go-to TJ’s beverage for some regulars.

And if you’re an Olipop fan, there’s even better news. Reddit users straight up compared Trader Joe’s Apple Prebiotic Soda to the OG, saying this apple-flavored dupe is “as good as Olipop Crisp Apple.”

Crisp Apple is a highly-hyped Olipop flavor, and now there’s a version that tastes so similar that it can fill the gap. Crack open a can of this fiber-filled drink, and you’ll get a taste that’s more tart than sweet for a perfectly fall-inspired pucker. It’s refreshing and light, making it the ideal choice for early-fall sipping when the weather is still warm.

Wondering how Trader Joe’s Apple Prebiotic Soda compares to Poppi, another big name in the prebiotic soda game? Well, some Reddit users say it’s similar to Poppi’s Sour Apple Flavor. However, while Poppi’s apple soda can taste “watered down,” per drinkers, TJ’s version is not.

Need more confirmation? Another Reddit users called the Trader Joe’s dupe “the closest taste to Olipop I’ve found.”

Yes, You Can Order TJ’s Newest Soda in Bulk

There are a couple of difference between Trader Joe’s Apple Prebiotic Soda and Olipop’s Crisp Apple. First and foremost, there is a difference in the fiber content. While most Olipop sodas contain 9 grams of fiber per can, TJ’s dupe only has 5 grams (which does make it a little more comparable to Poppi, at least in its nutrition facts).

Additionally, Trader Joe’s sells its apple prebiotic sodas by the can, not the case. At $2 per can, they’re quite reasonable — as one Reddit user pointed out, “It’s getting hard to find Olipop for $2 or less” per can, so it’s pretty much on par.

But if you’d prefer to stock up or want to take home more than a few cans tossed in your grocery cart, there is an alternative. You can order a case in-store and buy it in bulk. It’ll still be priced the same per-can, but it’s an effortless way to fill your pantry with your new favorite fall prebiotic soda.

And, should this seasonal TJ’s soda disappear like so many others before it, you’ll be glad you opted for a whole case.
