The One Piece & Popeyes Collab Has Exclusive Merch

It includes an exclusive bento box that’s already gone! (Or is it?)

Last week, we reported on a possible Popeyes promotion themed to the popular pirate-themed anime One Piece, which is also currently enjoying a live-action adaptation on Netflix and a new stunt show and exclusive menu at Universal’s Fan Fest event.

Well, the promotion has not only been confirmed by the company, but they also released an exclusive Bento Box for the promotion, which was already gone before they officially confirmed the menu. But they’ll also be offering other exclusive merchandise, too. Here’s what you need to know.

What’s on the menu?

It’s a mix of items you can get ala carte or in a couple combo meals. (The asterisk means that prices may vary across the country.)

Luffy Bento Bundle ($13.99*)

Two pieces of Popeyes iconic Signature Chicken, creamy Mac & Cheese, a refreshing Gum-Gum Fruit Lemonade, and Chopper’s Cupcake, served together for a truly legendary feast.

Luffy Bento Box ($7.99*)

Two pieces of Popeyes iconic Signature Chicken paired with creamy Mac & Cheese for an iconic meal.

Gum-Gum Fruit Lemonade ($3.49*)

A bright, delicious lemonade inspired by the One Piece original fruit. (It’s a combination of lemonade, pineapple, blue raspberry and orange flavors.)

Chopper’s Cupcake ($3.99*)

A sweet treat as lovable as the Straw Hats’ resident doctor. (They also describe it as a strawberry cake topped with pink strawberry icing and white sprinkles.)

What’s this about an exclusive bento box?

Customers who ordered the Luffy Bento Bundle when it premiered on April 13 were able to get a free, exclusive Luffy-themed bento box with it. However, the bento boxes were available in only six stores across the country, with one each in Boston, New York City, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and New Brunswick, New Jersey.

And it probably didn’t help that the company only sent the press release announcing the promotion on April 14th, after the boxes were already gone. As you can expect, scalpers have already flooded eBay with those exclusive boxes, where they’ve marked them up to several hundred bucks each. But that doesn’t mean they’re gone for good…

How do I get their exclusive merch?

If you weren’t able to get one of those free boxes, Popeyes has announced that they’ll have a range of exclusive tie-in merchandise available on their online store starting on April 15th. They’ve said that they’ll be offering “collectible keychains, T-shirts, and Bento Boxes,” so we’re betting you’ll have another chance to grab one of those Luffy bento boxes. You’ll just have to pay for it (although we’re betting it’ll be way cheaper than eBay!)
