Oprah Winfrey’s Favorite Ice Cream Is Our Favorite, Too

Great minds. They think alike. You saw the title of this article, so you know where I’m going with this. Oprah has been singing the praises of a certain ice cream brand for years now. In fact, she gushed about it back in 2002 on The Oprah Winfrey Show, calling it “the best ice cream I ever tasted.” That’s practically historic; some of you weren’t even alive in 2002, which is terrifying. Apparently, that little shoutout sent orders for this Cincinnati-based creamery skyrocketing, putting it on the national map once and for all. Who knows—maybe we wouldn’t have ever tried this ice cream brand without Oprah’s endorsement.

The creamery in question? Graeter’s. Impeccable taste, Ms. Winfrey. Impeccable taste.

What’s so good about Graeter’s ice cream? 

Graeter’s is the only commercial ice cream that follows something called the “French pot batch process.” It basically uses a high butterfat content mixed in small batches to create an incredibly dense, rich, and ultra-creamy base. Beyond that, though, the flavors are just so unique and delightful. 

What’s the best Graeter’s flavor? 

The #1 best Graeter’s flavor, according to our team of taste testers, is Lemon Meringue Pie. Yes, Lemon Meringue Pie. That’s an ice cream flavor. It’s tart, tangy, creamy, and blended with bits of soft pie crust and crystallized lemon candy. Ugh. Oprah, if you haven’t tried Graeter’s Lemon Meringue Pie…girl. Do yourself a favor, because it’s your next obsession, we promise.
