Oreo is one of those companies that makes something so well they really never would have to make any other product in order to be a successful. Oreos are one of the most beloved and iconic cookies of all time, and yet their ingenuity and persistence on trying new things never ceases to amaze us.

While there’s a certain time and place for the classic cookies and cream Oreo (hint: it’s most times, and most places), part of the fun with Oreos has become going to the grocery store, perusing the snack aisle, and choosing one flavor out of the seemingly infinite options to take home as your treat. It’s a bit of a choose-your-own-adventure in deciding what kind of cookie you think represents your mood. You can go classic, a bit nuanced with something like the Mint Oreos, or test the waters with one of their limited-edition flavors when you’re feeling bold. Those limited-edition flavors, though, are what bring us here today.
You see, Oreo has been on a campaign to see which limited-edition flavor would be making a comeback in 2027. And, interestingly enough, they’ve left it entirely up to the fans. Let’s see what the biggest Oreo fans wanted to see return to shelves next year together, shall we?
And The Winner Is…
Now I’m not gonna say we are entirely surprised to see which flavor won out in this fan vote. The Oreo Banana Pudding Cookies beat out to other limited edition flavors in the election process, and let’s just say, it was definitely the safe option.
The cookie sandwiches two individual layers of vanilla and banana custard-inspired Oreo cream between two NILLA Wafers-flavored Oreo cookies that look suspiciously like regular Golden Oreo cookies. The two runner-up flavors that the banana pudding cookies beat were the Oreo Deep Fried Cookies and the Oreo Chicken & Waffles Cookies.
While we are sure those cookies were certainly delicious, if we’re talking about what the people actually want, then this all checks out to us. For the most part, we can’t expect the majority of people to want to buy an entire pack of chicken or deep fried flavored cookies to the same degree as we can expect people to purchase an Oreo inspired by such a dessert as beloved as banana pudding.
That said, there’s still a certain degree of appreciation that we have to dole out to Oreo for even approaching those flavors to begin with. It’s not every day that your average grocery store cookie is going to come out with something as inventive as a Chicken & Waffles flavored Oreo, so you have to give credit where credit is due. For now, though, we’re happy to welcome Banana Pudding to shelves come Spring 2027.
