Potbelly Just Released A New Summer Sandwich

The summer items are just popping up all month and we’re here for it. It means lots of new tastes to try. We haven’t seen a menu item that we wouldn’t try at least once and Potbelly is no exception. Potbelly has announced the release of their new menu item for summer.

Potbelly is known for their toasty sandwiches, always served up warm. They also boast a variety of soups, salads, and chips, making them a great stop for a quick, filling, and warm meal. From Cubanos to grilled cheese and any sandwich in between, Potbelly has a sandwich for all. But that doesn’t mean they can’t innovate, too. With new flavors gaining popularity, it makes sense for Potbelly to join the leagues of other brands picking up what is trending. 

“Our fans want bold, distinctive flavors and the Fiery Island Chicken Sandwich allows us to deliver something that feels both familiar and unexpected,” said Eric Chenel, Director of Consumer Insights and Innovation at Potbelly. We think the new sandwich sounds interesting and we’re definitely ready to try it!

So What’s On This New Sandwich?

This sandwich brings together sweetness, heat, and creaminess for a sandwich as unique as you are! The Fiery Island is a grilled chicken sandwich with smooth and melty provolone cheese. It’s put on the brand’s signature oven-toasted bread. For that fiery kick, they’ve added a spicy jerk sauce. And for creaminess and some balance, fresh-sliced avocado. 

We think this sounds like the perfect sandwich for summer. A little sweet, a little heat, and some freshness. Turn your office into an island resort for lunch or transform your car into a beach chair for awhile when you sink your teeth into this tasty sub. Maybe add some pineapple for more tropical-ness? Is that too controversial? Are we starting the next pizza debate? (It makes way more sense on a jerk chicken sandwich. A pineapple salsa? Amazing.
