I’m sorry. I’m sorry! I know! I know that we’re in the middle of September. I know that we still have both Halloween and Thanksgiving to come, and that we’ve only just entered PSL season. I know that there’s a lot of stuff (and a lot of food) to think about before we even get to Christmas. But these food brands move quickly! They simply cannot be stopped in their intent to get ahead of the game and give us festive treats months before Christmas itself.

So, it begins: The festive grub is on its way, and a couple of names have got in early this year. Last week, Fly By Jing listed its yearly advent calendars on its website; this week, Reese’s listed its new festive candy mix online. Here we go again.
Reese’s Reindeer Mix
As reported by @candyhunting on Instagram, Reese’s Reindeer Mix, its new candy combo, has started popping up online (although at present, it’s not available for purchase – bit of restraint there, at least!). Thanks to one of these listings, we have a pretty in-depth view of what’s included in it. Reese’s Reindeer Mix is a combination of chocolate drizzled popcorn, Reese’s Pieces, Reese’s peanut butter chips, and Reese’s mini trees. It has a bit of a trail mix vibe, if the trail mix in question had no dried fruit, nuts, or granola, and was instead exclusively centered around chocolate and peanut butter (and is that such a bad thing?).
Reese’s is positioning its new Reindeer Mix as a sharing candy or a stocking-stuffer, and, clearly, as something you can leave out for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve. That’s if it makes it that far. And while there’s nothing particularly wild going on here, I do think this sounds pretty good; there’s a nice combo of crunch and squidge going on that I appreciate. Sure, it would have been nice to have a bit more flavor variation, but you can only expect so much from a brand that focuses almost exclusively on peanut butter/chocolate combos.
The People Are Ready To Munch
So far, Reese’s Reindeer Mix looks like it’ll go down a storm. The response to it has been broadly positive, with people saying that it’s a fun choice for the holidays (which it is). As yet, though, there’s no sign of exactly when it’ll drop, but I’d hazard a guess that it’ll be out sooner rather than later. We’ve only just got our head around Hershey’s Halloween snacks, and now this!
