Folks, it’s time to publicly ask the question we’ve all asked ourselves quietly a hundred times: Are the little paper flags in Hershey’s Kisses edible? And if not edible, are they at least…benign? I’m not saying I’ve ever eaten one on purpose, but through the law of big numbers, I’ve definitely eaten one on accident. I just want to know whether “paper consumption” is going on my autopsy.

Speaking of Hershey’s Kisses, there’s a new Hershey’s Kiss flavor on shelves this holiday season! Right now, you can head to Walmart or Kroger or wherever you find candy and pick up a bag of Snickerdoodle Hershey’s Kisses. We found an early bag at Target, so I’ll risk an early death-by-paper to review them for you good people.

New Hershey’s Kisses!

Snickerdoodle Hershey’s Kisses

Pros: As our own Tyler Bowers recently revealed, these Kisses feature cinnamon and cookie pieces to replicate the flavor and texture of a snickerdoodle cookie. I’ll happily cosign the latter: The crunch factor of this Kiss is no joke. While it isn’t my favorite holiday Kiss, I’m sure it’ll be a complementary addition to any holiday variety bags Hershey produces this season.

Cons: The white creme base of this Hershey’s Kiss comprises most of the flavor. The texture of the snickerdoodle cookie pieces makes this unique, but the cinnamon is super subtle. If you like white chocolate, this will be right up your alley; as a real chocolate enjoyer, this is tragically whelming. If you’re looking for a strong cinnamon flavor, skip this and go find a bag of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Kisses.

What other holiday Hershey’s Kisses are there?

In the white creme category, you can choose between Sugar Cookie, Candy Cane, and Snickerdoodle. For the milk chocolate fans, you’ll find Hot Cocoa and Cherry Cordial. And for the elevated dark chocolate die-hards, seek out Mint Truffle.

Hershey’s is also bringing two of their previously store-exclusive milk chocolate “Flavors of the World” to retailers everywhere. Remember when I had to go to New York City to find these rare, expensive Kisses? Well, I just found both Chocolate Truffle and Espresso (aka Café Moka) at the Target by my house.
