A new Twix flavor is coming. While Kit Kat gets all the credit for launching new flavors every 22 minutes, Twix is out here quietly plugging away at their own innovations. But is anybody actually looking for a new Twix flavor? Seriously, sound off in the comments if Twix is your favorite candy bar and you crave new Twix creations.
Despite my personal ambivalence towards the directionally-identified confection, it looks like Twix is launching a new flavor sometime this year. This information comes from fellow candy journalist (and occasional “hey, know anything about this?” DM buddy) Snackolator, who reported the first rumblings of this flavor earlier this month. But what is the new Twix flavor? Let’s get into it.
What’s the new Twix flavor?
Snickerdoodle! The product image we have doesn’t make it clear whether the texture of the wafer is being changed to replicate a snickerdoodle, but the cross-section in the image is identical to a standard Twix. One distributor description states these Twix will include a “snickerdoodle-flavored cookie,” which feels like yet another cookie ouroboros. The number of cookie-flavored cookies is out of control, y’all.
Cookie-flavored Twix? Haven’t they already done that?
Twix is no stranger to the idea of a cookie-flavored variant. We’ve already covered the decade-long storied history of the Sugar Cookie Twix that never made it out of the ovens. That half-baked idea might have contributed to a later innovation that did hit shelves: Cookie Dough Twix, which featured “a creamy cookie dough layer, sprinkled with chocolate cookie bits” alongside the standard wafer and milk chocolate coating. Furthering their consistent love of ice cream/cookie inspiration, Twix also has Salted Caramel and Cookies & Creme flavors on shelves now. Can we get a Mint Chocolate Chip Twix next?
When and where can I find Snickerdoodle Twix?
Unfortunately, we have no release information at this time. Snackolator said it didn’t appear this would be exclusive to any particular retailer, which I’ll cosign since I’ve found this product on a distributor site that wouldn’t be able to offer an exclusive. At this time, the best release date guess I have is “soon!” since snickerdoodle isn’t a particularly seasonal flavor, and an Instacart listing supports it hitting shelves in the semi-near future.
