We’ve been waiting for it for nearly six months—the new Twix flavor has finally arrived. Once again, Twix has reached into the cookie jar for inspiration. Previously, they’ve come up with Sugar Cookie Twix and Cookie Dough Twix, and now they’re offering Snickerdoodle Twix. Yes, everyone’s favorite cinnamon and cream of tartar-flavored cookie is getting the left and right treatment. But is it any good? We got an early taste of the new Twix flavor to find out.

Snickerdoodle Twix

New Twix Flavor!

Snickerdoodle Twix

Pros: It doesn’t taste like a regular Twix. It definitely has a cinnamon flavor, which comes through especially well on the finish. I even got a hint of tang, just like you would get from a snickerdoodle. And I’m not sure if it was the power of suggestion, but we did feel like the cookie part of the Twix was softer and more crumbly—like a snickerdoodle. I’m impressed they managed to make a Twix taste not just like a Twix.

Cons: While this new Twix flavor doesn’t taste like a classic Twix, I wish it did. The cinnamon comes through on the finish, but it ends with a bitter taste that lasts. And there’s not enough salt in the cookie or the caramel, so everything just tastes sweet, unlike a classic, balanced Twix. Also, I gave a taste to my colleague Ariana without telling her the flavor and she commented that it definitely tasted peanut buttery. I revealed that there was no peanut butter involved and let her know this was a Snickerdoodle Twix. But even with that knowledge, she swore she tasted peanut butter. Weird! That said, Twix, please bring back Peanut Butter Twix and leave the snickerdoodles alone.

Justine Sterling

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
