Sonic Tater Tots Now Available in a Walmart Freezer Aisle Near You

I’ve got a confession to make: I do not like tater tots. I’ve got another confession to make: I love Sonic tater tots. Sonic tots not only taste great but they also really complement the rest of their menu items. During lunch break from marching band practice in the summertime, I’d get a footlong coney, tots, and a cherry limeade and feel amazing. The only downside about Sonic tots is that there isn’t always a Sonic nearby. Often, those perfect tots are miles and miles away—but not anymore.

The fast food gods (e.g. Ronald, The Noid, the Taco Bell Chihuahua) have deemed now to be an appropriate time to release frozen Sonic Tots. According to Brand Eating, you can now find Sonic Tots in about 4,000 Wal-Mart Supercenter locations (with additional retailers announced at a later date). For the many of us who’ve never lived near a Sonic or have unfortunately had to move away from a Sonic-ful area, this is excellent news.

The Tots are produced by American food-processing company Lamb Weston, one of the world’s largest producers of frozen potato products and maker of the best frozen french fries according to our taste tests. If tater tots aren’t your thing, there are plans to release frozen Sonic Fries later this year.

Will these tots invoke a nostalgic fast food feeling and rival the best frozen tater tots on the market? Or will they taste like standard frozen tater tots that you make at 1 a.m. on a Tuesday because you can’t sleep and are just craving carbs and that’s all you have in the freezer?

Check back soon and we might just have an answer for you.
