Sprite Vanilla Frost Is Here! And We Tasted It

We’d heard whispers from our very own Griffin Parker earlier this year that there might be a new holiday Sprite releasing this winter: Vanilla Frost. Details were scarce but sources told us that it might be a Kroger exclusive. Well, it turns out the whispers were right. Nestled between Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry and Sprite Chill, you can now find Sprite Vanilla Frost on the shelf at Kroger (and Kroger-owned) stores for a limited time.

(Note: Some folks are reporting that Sprite Vanilla Frost is available for sale at Walmart, but our sources tell us that this is not intentional and not something you should expect to see.) For my 50th article with Sporked, I got my hands on the lemon lime and vanilla-flavored soda. Read on to find out if this new Sprite flavor is worth seeking out for yourself!

Sprite Vanilla Winter Frost

New Sprite Flavor!

Sprite Vanilla Winter Frost

Pros: New Sprite Vanilla Frost isn’t something that I knew I needed until I took a sip. It has a very pleasant vanilla flavor. It’s almost cake-like—Mountain Dew fans might draw comparisons to the ever-elusive Mountain Dew Cake Smash—that is not too sweet or too overpowering and perfectly marries with the lemon-lime flavor. Also, I am a sucker for a great design and the vanilla-colored snowflakes patterned across the bottom of the can is excellent. Props to the graphics team at Sprite.

Cons: Though I’m happy Vanilla Frost Sprite isn’t too sweet, I do think it could benefit from being just a hair more vanilla forward. As I continued to sip, the vanilla flavor started to become more and more lost within the classic lemon lime flavor of Sprite. Another con is that this is not Sprite Tropical Mix, which desperately needs to make a comeback. But that can be said of any limited edition Sprite flavors.
All in all, while this isn’t my favorite holiday-themed soda and it also isn’t my favorite Sprite flavor, it is quite tasty and absolutely worth hunting down for your holiday festivities!

  • I’d bet this came about because it must have been a popular mix in the Coke Freestyle machines.
