Starbucks’ New Bearista Cups Come With A Surprise
Starbucks has announced that the Glass Bearista Cold Cup―Surprise Box Edition arrives at U.S. Starbucks coffeehouses on November 10, 2026.
Each cup holds 20 ounces and the new collection features five different designs. However, customers won’t be able to pick their favorite from a display. Instead, they’ll have to buy a mystery box and see which character is waiting inside.
Remember When Starbucks’ Original Bearista Cup Sold Out?
The excitement surrounding the new collection makes more sense when looking at what happened in November 2025.
Starbucks introduced its original 20-ounce Bearista Glass Cold Cup as part of its holiday merchandise lineup. The cup had a teddy bear-shaped glass body, a green beanie-style lid, and a straw. It was cute, instantly recognizable, and different from the usual Starbucks tumblers.
It didn’t take long for the cup to become a hot item. Customers rushed to find it, and many coffeehouses sold out. Starbucks later acknowledged that demand had exceeded expectations, despite sending more Bearista cups to stores than almost any other holiday merchandise item.
The company eventually made another 17,000 cups available in December 2025. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to erase the disappointment for everyone who had missed the original release. The cup also caught the attention of resellers.
The Pink Bearista Cup Proved the Original Wasn’t a One-Time Hit
The original green-hat bear wasn’t the last time Starbucks experimented with the design.
In July 2026, Starbucks introduced a pink version of the Bearista Glass Cold Cup as part of its Pink Drink-inspired merchandise collection. The new cup featured a pink-and-white hat and a strawberry-themed straw topper, giving the familiar bear a summery look.
Starbucks reported that the limited-edition Pink Bearista Glass Cold Cup had mostly sold out across North America by 7AM on its release day. That’s a pretty impressive response, and it suggests that interest in Bearista cups hasn’t disappeared with the holiday season.
Missed the Original Bearista? Starbucks Is Bringing It Back
Anyone who isn’t interested in playing the mystery-box game has another option. Starbucks plans to bring back its original Bearista Glass Cold Cup on December 1, 2026.
The returning design features the familiar bear-shaped glass body, green beanie-style lid, and striped straw that helped make the cup a holiday favorite in 2025.
