There was a time when making a charcuterie board meant throwing some cheese, crackers, and cured meat onto a wooden board and calling it done. Then came the olives. The jams. The tiny bowls of honey. The strategically scattered grapes. Those salami roses that I can’t seem to make. At some point, charcuterie became an art form, and now even the raisins are getting involved.

Sun-Maid just launched a new line of Charcuterie Pairings made specifically for adding to meat and cheese boards. There are four varieties, each combining dried fruit and other sweet snacks in one 4.5-ounce package, so you can make your board look like you know what you’re doing without buying six separate bags of dried fruit.
Four New Sun-Maid Charcuterie Pairings
The new lineup is less “box of raisins in your lunch bag” and more “I’m having the in-laws over and own several small cheese knives.”
There are four combinations to choose from:
- Apricots, Blueberries & Cranberries: Dried apricots with blueberries and cranberries.
- Apricots, Blueberries & Vanilla Yogurt Raisins: Dried apricots and blueberries with vanilla yogurt-covered raisins.
- Cherries, Banana Chips & Chocolate Yogurt Raisins: Dried cherries and banana chips with chocolate yogurt-covered raisins.
- Cranberries, Cherries & Chocolate Yogurt Raisins: Dried cranberries and cherries with chocolate yogurt-covered raisins.
I’m most intrigued by the chocolate yogurt-covered raisins. Cheese and chocolate-covered raisins aren’t the first pairing I’d come up with on my own, but I’ve put far stranger combinations onto a charcuterie board and defended them as “balance.”
Sun-Maid says the sweet and tangy mixes are designed to complement meats and cheeses, but you could also use them as toppings or just eat them straight from the bag. Which is good, because sometimes my charcuterie board is just me standing in front of the fridge eating cheese with one hand.
What To Pair Them With
If deciding which cheese goes with which dried fruit feels like a level of hosting expertise you have yet to unlock, Sun-Maid has taken care of that part too.
Each package has pairing suggestions on the back to help you choose dried fruit, meat, cheese, and crackers for your board. So rather than wandering around the deli section wondering whether dried cherries have strong opinions about Gouda, you have somewhere to start.
The new Charcuterie Pairings are rolling out nationwide ahead of the fall and holiday entertaining season and are already available at select Walmart and Target locations.
And if they never make it onto an actual charcuterie board? Put some cheese and crackers next to the open bag and call it deconstructed. It still counts.
