Honestly, at this point I’m surprised that all my food doesn’t come as a mystery flavor. Brands love to put out a mystery flavor. If you were to believe the rumors, most mystery flavors are just an amalgamation of all the leftovers from the production of their usual flavors. I guess it makes sense from a business standpoint to put out a mystery flavor then. You’re just getting free money at that point.

I personally don’t believe that to be the case, but it’s still fun to imagine. However they make it, SunnyD of all companies is getting in on the fun of making a mystery flavor. Here’s everything we know about it so far.
SunnyD Mystery Flavor = SpookyD
SunnyD named the mystery flavor SpookyD and I love it. SpookyD comes in a one gallon jug so there’s no treading lightly here. You have to fully commit to the SpookyD or you don’t deserve the SpookyD. It can sense weakness in your heart. SpookyD features festive Halloween-inspired packaging for the full season effect.
SpookyD is a Walmart exclusive and will be in stores until supplies last. You’ll be able to find it in 18 packs of the 6.75oz bottles and gallon jugs. As for the taste, we have a little insight but it doesn’t give us much context. @markie_devo mentioned the person who found SpookyD to tip him off about it and said SpookyD tasted like Smarties. The only thing about that is that Smarties come in six flavors. So we have a conundrum on our hands.
Breaking Down Smarties Flavors?
You never know where a news piece will take you. I never thought I’d be going over the six flavors of Smarties for a SpookyD announcement, yet here we are. Smarties come in six fruity flavors. White tastes like orange-cream, yellow like pineapple, pink like cherry, green like strawberry, purple like grape, and orange like well, orange. Wait, green Smarties taste like strawberries? What the heck is going on there?
The key takeaway here though is that maybe the theory of mixing flavors to create a mystery flavor is real. If SpookyD tastes like Smarties which is a combination of six fruity flavors then maybe SpookyD is just a combination of all the fruity flavors of drinks that SunnyD produces. Did we just break this thing wide open? For now, we’ll just have to wait to get our hands on a bottle of SunnyD’s mystery flavor to find out for ourselves.
