We’ve barely recovered from last year’s Mountain Dew Baja Blast Pie, and Taco Bell is threatening us with a new Mountain Dew Pie innovation. Per the brand’s recent Live Más LIVE presentation, we’ll all be enjoying (or “enjoying”) a pie based on Mountain Dew Baja Midnight in the near future. Just like whipped topping on a good pie, there’s a deep layer of details to dig through here. Take my hand as we traverse through the sweetest darkness of Mountain Dew Baja Midnight Pie.

What is Mountain Dew Baja Midnight?
For the unaware, Taco Bell now features multiple Mountain Dew Baja sodas on tap: the all-time classic Baja Blast and the relative newcomer Baja Midnight, which was actually revealed for the first time at last year’s Live Más LIVE. After Mountain Dew Baja Blast hit shelves permanently following years of on-and-off retail availability, Mountain Dew Baja Midnight took the soda’s discarded “Taco Bell Exclusive” tag when it debuted last summer. Our own Tyler Bowers wrote up the full flavor description in his review of the new soda; in the briefest terms possible, this is to passionfruit what tropical lime is to classic Baja Blast.
What is Live Más LIVE?
For the third year in a row, Taco Bell has announced a huge slate of upcoming innovations (alongside a mini award show and plenty of celebrity cameos) at a presentation called Live Más LIVE. The whole concept of Mountain Dew pie was revealed to us at Live Más LIVE 2024. This year, Taco Bell really splashed out by pre-recording the event to edit ahead of the March 10th premiere date–not on YouTube, but on Peacock. Yes, in addition to Wicked: For Good and season 2 of Ted, your Peacock subscription now gets you access to an hour-long press conference for fast food.
Here’s what I don’t understand, folks: I’ve been on the forefront of Sporked‘s Taco Bell coverage since I reviewed the canned Beekeeper Coffee Horchata Latte revealed at the very first Live Más LIVE back in 2024. Where’s my Live Más LIVE invitation, Taco Bell? Plenty of my friends and peers like Zach, Bailey, and Sam got to go; why not me? Where’s my purple carpet photo? Where’s my opportunity to review Mountain Dew Pie and all the other innovations early for the fanatical Sporked audience? I look forward to righting this cosmic wrong by attending Live Más LIVE 2027 in my finest budget UNIQLO formalwear tailored suit.
When can we get our hands on this new Mountain Dew pie?
That’s the one piece of this puzzle we don’t know just yet. Taco Bell announced tons of new products alongside this Mountain Dew pie at Live Más LIVE, but they rarely came with concrete release dates. The Baja Blast Pie was finally released by Taco Bell a full 21 months after it was first revealed; while I have a feeling we’ll see this Mountain Dew Baja Midnight Pie quicker than that, I can’t be sure until the brand tells me so.
