Taco Bell Is Bringing Back Our Faves With This Throwback Menu

Wait, is the year that I graduated college now a throwback? Am I really that old? No, this can’t be! Sadly it appears so, according to Taco Bell at least. Nostalgia rules our current climate and Taco Bell has set their sights on 2016. If that’s what it takes to get some of my favorites back, then I guess I’ll take what I can get.

Relive 2016

With the third chapter of its Decades Menu, Taco Bell is helping fans relive 2016 by bringing back four fan-favorite menu items from its 2016 lineup. You’ll soon be able to get the Naked Chicken Chalupa, Meximelt, Beefy Crunch Burrito, and Caramel Apple Empanada beginning August 20th.

What Were Those Items Again?

The Naked Chicken Chalupa is Taco Bell’s iconic crispy chicken shell, made with all-white-meat chicken marinated in bold Mexican-inspired spices, and filled with cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, diced tomatoes, and creamy avocado ranch sauce.

The Beefy Crunch Burrito features seasoned beef, Flamin’ Hot Fritos, seasoned rice, reduced-fat sour cream, and nacho cheese sauce. Taco Bell rewards members will get early access to this one starting on August 18th.

The Meximelt starts with seasoned beef, freshly prepared pico de gallo, and a warm three-cheese blend that’s wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. And finally for dessert, the Caramel Apple Empanadas find a golden crispy pastry filled with warm apple pieces and caramel.

Beyond the menu, Taco Bell is teaming up with brands that capture 2016 energy, including Divine, Camp Snap, and Anti Social Social Club, to bring the mid-2010s to life through exclusive collaborations and experiences that celebrate the creativity, culture, and nostalgia fans still can’t get enough of.

On August 25th, the celebration continues with a Taco Bell Rewards Tuesday Drop featuring limited-edition collaborations with iconic 2016 streetwear brand, Anti-Social Social Club, and screen-free digital camera brand, Camp Snap, encouraging users to capture memories while staying in the moment, giving fans new ways to relive the style and spirit of 2016.
