Taco Bell clearly isn’t done serving summer just yet. While everyone else is thinking about pumpkin spice, the fast-food chain has gone in the complete opposite direction by dropping a frozen slushy drink.

The new Pineapple Freeze has officially landed on Taco Bell’s menu, giving fans another drink to pair with everything from Crunchwrap Supremes to burritos and tacos.
A Pretty Simple Pineapple Slush
Unlike some of Taco Bell’s recent beverages that mix multiple fruit flavours or creamy add-ins, the new Pineapple Freeze keeps things simple. And sometimes, simple is exactly what is needed.
The Pineapple Freeze is an icy, slush-style drink with a sweet pineapple flavor that is made to be refreshing and easy to sip. Its bright yellow color makes it look just as fun as it tastes and it joins Taco Bell’s growing lineup of frozen drinks, some of which becoming almost as popular as the Nachos.
The Pineapple Freeze is available in regular and large sizes, and customers can even choose to “Make It Dirty” for an extra charge if they want to switch things up. Taco Bell hasn’t shared exactly what that customization includes―though we assume the classic dirty soda treatment―but it offers another way for fans to personalize their order.
Pineapple Is No Stranger To Taco Bell
Long-time Taco Bell fans know the fast-food chain has played around with pineapple before, including drinks like the Pineapple Whip Freeze, which was layered with a vanilla-flavored cream. Taco Bell also has the Pineapple Lime Rockstar Energy Refresca, which is served over ice and combines sweet pineapple and zesty lime flavors with Rockstar Focus Energy.
This time around, Taco Bell has gone in a different direction. The Pineapple Freeze keeps the spotlight on the fruit itself, creating a lighter and more refreshing drink that lets the sweet tropical flavour shine from the first sip to the last.
For anyone who enjoys fruity frozen drinks without a lot of extra flavors mixed in, this could easily become a new favorite. A large cup of the Pineapple Freeze goes for $4.19, making it one of the most expensive drinks on Taco Bell’s menu.
This Could Be A Hit
Taco Bell has been on a roll lately, rolling out everything from the Pepper Jack Steak Nacho Fries to new burritos and limited-time menu items. Adding a frozen slushy drink seems like a good way to wash everything down.
The Pineapple Freeze is exactly the kind of menu item that appeals to many because it’s simple. Whether it’s paired with a spicy taco combo or enjoyed on its own, this new Freeze looks ready to help Taco Bell fans hang onto summer for just a little longer. And given Taco Bell’s recent troubles, this drink could be just what the chain needs.
