Earlier this year, your favorite team of pro taste testers started dabbling in the world of weed (and hemp, too). The most obvious place to start our journey? THC-infused drinks, which seem to be exploding in popularity these days. I’m sure we’ll get around to telling you which gummies taste the best one of these days, but in the meantime we’re keeping our eyes (and tastebuds) on bevs.

We’ll be trying a lot more in the coming weeks and months. But for now, here are some tasty drinks that will get you where you need to be this 4/20.

Upstate Elevator

Our reviewer Tatiana referred to Upstate Elevator’s Anejo Lime THC Spirit as “the future of alcohol-free drinking,” and I totally agree. I am deeply and profoundly in love with this hemp-infused spirit with tequila vibes and a generous 10mg of THC per shot. It’s tart and sweet and herbal in equal measure. We went through this bottle FAST at my house. The brand also makes a bunch of premade canned drinks in fun flavors (Yuzu Lemonade! Blackberry Zinger!) and a wide range of dosages, from 1mg THC for beginners to 10mg for seasoned THC consumers.

Artet

If you want THC drinks that taste like craft cocktails, look no further than Artet. They make canned, hemp-derived-THC-infused spritzes with 5mg THC and 5mg CBD. They come in four flavors—Grapefruit Rosemary Spritz, Mango Ginger Spritz, Strawberry Basil Spritz, and Chamomile Lemon Spritz—and they all taste great. They also sell a bottled aperitif in three strengths. We tried the 2.5mg aperitif and it’s perfect for people looking for something super low-dose to mix with some sparkling water. Very tasty stuff!

High Rise

Here in California, you won’t find THC drinks in bars (boo!), but things are different in South Carolina, where High Rise is made and also served in bars and restaurants. They make canned hemp THC seltzers with nice, mild fruit flavors—I tried the Blood Orange and the Raspberry and loved them both. They also make a bottled hemp THC spirit in three flavors: Citrus, Orange, and Raspberry. Anecdotally, these drinks got me wildly high. The brand is a good endorsement for the powers of hemp THC.

Houseplant

Seth Rogen’s cannabis brand just started slinging seltzers earlier this year. They’re pretty low-dose at 3mg of hemp-derived THC per can, but that just means you can have a few at the BBQ. I tried the Citrus flavor and really liked it, but they also make Blackberry, Black Cherry, and Pineapple, too.

Nowadays

Nowadays claims to have made the first nationally available THC spirit; I haven’t tried it yet, but I did really love their canned seltzers, which contain 5mg of hemp-derived THC. Spicy Lime was my personal favorite flavor.

Wynk

If you like an extremely aesthetic THC bev, Wynk is for you. Their colorful canned seltzers come in 10mg, 5mg, 3mg, and 2.5mg dosages and really fun flavors, including a whole line of lemonades (Raspberry, Strawberry, and traditional). You’ll find these at liquor stores across the East Coast and Midwest, but they ship nationally if you’re out here in California.

Gwynedd Stuart

Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks. Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction. Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home. Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
