The Best Things We've Eaten This Year So Far

Sporked fans: These are the best things we have eaten at work this year so far. While we still have what feels like hundreds of taste tests to do before the end of 2023, we have eaten so many delicious bites of food and consumed so many sensational sips of drinks in the first half of the year that we simply had to check in with our readers and give you an update.

Whatever you’re into, there’s a product for you on this list. I recommend adding all five of these to your grocery list the next time you hit the store.

C. Wirthy & Co. Blackened Hand-Seasoned Atlantic Salmon Fillets: Since trying these C. Wirthy these frozen fish fillets during our taste test of the best frozen, seasoned, and ready to cook seafood, I have purchased them multiple times. I’ve tasted every flavor the brand makes. I’m telling you, these fish fillets are wonderful. They’re tender, well seasoned, and convenient. They made us feel like we never need to go out to a fancy restaurant ever again. These make such a quick and delicious dinner. Buy them!
Heinz Mayoracha: I know what you’re going to say: “That’s just sriracha mayo! We already know about that.” No. This is Heinz Mayoracha. It’s the best sriracha mayo we’ve ever tried. In fact, it’s one of our favorite condiments in general. It’s the perfect blend of sriracha and mayo. It’s creamy, garlicky, and has a nice kick. You could use this on sushi, or to make an incredible chicken or egg salad, or to top the Emily Mariko salmon bowl (which I know some of you are still making).
Andersen’s Creamy Split Pea Soup: If you know, you know. If you don’t, you do now. Andersen’s Pea Soup is the canned soup to end all canned soups. Pea Soup Andersen’s is a restaurant in California famous for, you guessed it, pea soup. This canned version is just as good as the stuff you get at the restaurant. They serve it with sour cream, diced white onion, and cheddar cheese shreds, and I recommend you do the same! You will lose your absolute mind for this soup. It’s one of the best things we ate this year and one of the best things we’ve eaten…ever?
Great Value Root Beer: Trust me on this one. Walmart’s brand of root beer is phenomenal. Great Value root beer is one of the best standard root beers I’ve ever tasted. I would love to drink this out of a frosted mug or use it to make a root beer float. On top of the perfectly balanced taste, it’s cheap! We love a delicious deal.
MAMA Creamy Tom Yum Shrimp Noodles: Their chicken ramen was one of the best things we ate last year and obviously one of our favorite ramens. This creamy tom yum shrimp version we tasted this year is even better. If you’re not familiar, tom yum is a Thai hot and sour soup made with lemongrass, lime, and galangal. It’s one of my favorite soups in the world, and this instant noodle version is just as good as any restaurant rendition I’ve ever had.
