The Best Costco Food Court Snacks To Try (And What To Skip)

Technically we have done an entire taste test of the Costco food court offerings. What wasn’t included the first time around is my opinion on the Costco food court―which means a lot because 1) I’m an opinionated person and 2) I’m a frequent visitor of the Costco food court.

It comes with the territory of having to go to Costco every two weeks to get my allergy meds because I’m allergic to my cat. The Costco food court is one of the more accessible options for shopping at Costco as a single person so I’ve tried it all. And I have thoughts. Oh, so many thoughts. Here they are for you to read!

Get The Hot Dog Combo

Yeah, no duh. This one’s so obvious that we’re getting it out of the way right away. The $1.50 hot dog combo is truly the thing to get at Costco because you’re gaining money by getting it. Costco sells this combo at a loss to get you in the door, which means legally you have to get it every time you’re there or you’re leaving money on the table. They even did us non-soda drinkers a favor by adding in a hot dog combo option that gives you a bottle of water instead of a cup for the soda fountain!

You Need A Full Pizza (Or Two)

You can and should get a slice of pizza for yourself while you’re at the food court. The main prize at the Costco food court though is a full pizza for $10. And let me tell you, this pizza is massive! Costco-sized even. One of these would feed an entire board game night. Get two―one cheese and one pepperoni―and you’ll be eating the leftovers for a week. Just make sure you call ahead if you’re ordering any more so you can skip the line!

Skip The Cookie

I know we ranked the double chunk chocolate cookie highly in our taste test. The Costco Guys also won’t love to hear me say this but I really think you should skip it if the timing isn’t right. I used to get this when I was there in the evenings. It was everything it should be! Soft, warm, gooey, just divine. I made the mistake of ordering it during lunch though and let me tell you, those things get cooked under the heat lamp. And not in a good way. The cookie I got was hard as a rock and just as dull. It’s a skip.

At Least Try The Chicken Bake

I’m not going to promise that the chicken bake is for everyone. You do need to try it at least once in your life. You need to experience the goop tube that’s full of chicken, moistened with a bit of ranch, and meaty bacon bits. It’s dense in the best way possible.

Soft Serve Knows What It Is

The soft serve at the Costco food court will never be a revolutionary experience. It is, at its core, still just regular soft serve. That said, if you want a sweet treat to enjoy on your walk around the store then you should absolutely get it. You can get it in plain vanilla or chocolate with added drizzles of hot fudge, caramel, or strawberry.
