The best breakfast burritos in the freezer aisle are the ultimate shortcut to a satisfying breakfast on the go. They’re ready to eat in a few minutes flat (as long as you have a microwave), and they’re stuffed with all of the warm, gooey ingredients you love. Yes, “warm, gooey ingredients” might seem kind of vague, but as we learned in our three separate breakfast burrito taste tests, breakfast burritos can contain almost anything. We even found a vegan breakfast burrito that’s totally egg free!

What we looked for in the best frozen breakfast burritos (see, we CAN be more specific).
- Discernible, tasty ingredients: Most breakfast burritos are what we inelegantly refer to as “goop tubes.” Some tubes are goopier than others, but it’s always nice when you can tell egg from cheese and whatnot—although, it does really come down to what tastes good.
- A tortilla that doesn’t become rock solid after you nuke it. You ever bite down on the end of a breakfast burrito and basically break a tooth? Well, we don’t like that. We found a bunch of brands that are definitely putting a little more effort into their tortillas and it shows.
These are the nine best frozen breakfast burritos we found in our three separate breakfast burrito taste tests.

- Just Egg Southwest Breakfast Burrito
-
Our previous favorite vegan breakfast burrito was discontinued (sad!), but this Just Egg frozen breakfast burrito was good enough to take its place. I will say that this doesn’t really taste like breakfast, but if you’re vegan you can make it work. It has a lot of cumin-y seasoning, plus beans and cheesy goop. It’s totally satisfying and totally plant based. A word of warning: Whatever you do, do not buy Just Egg’s Skillet Breakfast burrito. It’s all broccoli stems and dried dill. - Red’s Huevos Rancheros Burrito
-
This huevos rancheros-inspired frozen breakfast burrito is packed with a nice mess o’ stuff. You get black beans and tender clumps of scrambled egg, plenty of creamy cheese, and lots of diced peppers. This is the best burrito for green pepper lovers. I can be a bit pepper averse when they’re in this format (too often all you get are wet skins that stick to the roof of your mouth!), but these peppers really taste fresh. They’re nice and green and look freshly chopped. The one thing this is missing? Ranchero sauce, my dudes. But I guess you can supply your own red sauce (like a taco sauce or enchilada sauce) if you’re feeling ambitious. This is mostly just a good Mexican-esque burrito—it tastes good even though I think they should call it something else. Because it’s simply not rancheros without ranchero sauce. —Gwynedd Stuart

- Jimmy Dean Meat Lovers Breakfast Burritos
-
For some people, breakfast is all about the meat. They pile their plates high with bacon, sausage, or steak to fuel up before they face the day. As the name suggests, this Jimmy Dean breakfast burrito is the best frozen breakfast burrito for real meat lovers. It’s meat-heavy, without being one note. You still get fluffy eggs and some creaminess from the melty cheese. Your arteries might hate you later, but this is a damn satisfying breakfast. —Jordan Myrick

- Tina’s Breakfast Burrito, Handcrafted, Egg, Sausage & Cheddar Cheese
-
Although this isn’t the most structurally sound frozen breakfast burrito we tried (my boss referred to it as a “goop tube”), it was easily our favorite. Gwynedd Stuart, Sporked managing editor, said it reminded her of a cheesier version of the McDonald’s breakfast burrito in the best way possible. The sausage is peppery and a little smoky. The filling is super cheesy and soft. These breakfast burritos are certified goop tubes, but they’re still the best breakfast burritos you can buy at the grocery store. —Jordan Myrick

- Red’s Turkey Sausage, Egg & Three Cheese Breakfast Burrito
-
Red’s is doing truly impressive stuff with poultry based sausage. My colleague Justine Sterling thought it was a little squidgy for her taste and I hear that. The sausage is a little spongey—but the flavor is salty and peppery and unreal. This sucker is SIMPLE: just scrambled egg, cheese, and sausage. But simplicity is good in this situation, for sure. Like, yes, you can spruce it up with some salsa verde, but if you’re like me and you like simple flavors for breakfast, this is pretty perfect. And we imagine it’s lower in saturated fat than most burritos made with pork sausage. —Gwynedd Stuart

- Red’s Uncured Bacon Burrito
-
This frozen breakfast burrito is a little bit greasy for my taste, but if you’re one of those people who firmly believes breakfast isn’t really breakfast unless there’s bacon involved, this one’s for you. You get a lot of everything in here: lots of eggs, lots of cheese, plentiful potatoes, and a lot of bacon. It’s not short on anything, and that porky, salty, smoky flavor was enough to keep us coming back for bite after bite. —Gwynedd Stuart

- Red’s Egg Scramble Burrito
-
Red’s really should have called this a nacho cheese burrito. It’s so cheesy and saucy inside, and the sauce actually has a little bit of heat. The potatoes aren’t just filler here, either. They have some skin on them, so they really contribute some nice earthy flavor along with starchy bulk. The simple combo of scrambled eggs, earthy potatoes, and zesty cheese sauce is so simple but so good. Oh, and if you’re ovo-lacto, this is a vegetarian breakfast burrito option! —Gwynedd Stuart

- Red’s Chicken Chorizo, Egg & Three Cheese Breakfast Burrito
-
As someone who doesn’t eat red meat, I was thrilled to find a pork- and beef-free breakfast burrito option that’s this delicious. The chicken chorizo in this is perfectly spiced and super moist. The other fillings are deliciously gooey. The tortilla is soft. I didn’t even feel compelled to put hot sauce on this premade breakfast burrito—that’s how good it is. This is the best breakfast burrito for people who don’t want fatty meat in the morning, but still want something super flavorful. —Jordan Myrick

- Red’s Chicken Maple Sausage Burrito
-
I am so excited to recommend this frozen breakfast burrito. Now, THIS is a goop tube—a great goop tube. It’s salty-sweet, but it actually works. The chicken sausage is peppery and flavorful and I wouldn’t have guessed it was chicken sausage rather than pork sausage if the package hadn’t told me. The sausage tastes excellent and the maple flavor genuinely complements it without being cloyingly sweet. It’s all so creamy inside. Justine said this is like a sausage gravy burrito but if the sausage gravy had maple syrup in it. We had like 15 burritos to eat and I couldn’t stop taking bites of this one. It’s the best! —Gwynedd Stuart
