Both of the reigning warehouse giants offer food courts, but one tends to get far more love than the other—and it’s Costco’s food court. However, as a longtime Sam’s Club shopper (and someone who simply refuses to stand in Costco’s insanely long food court lines on a regular basis), I’m here to tell you that you shouldn’t sleep on Costco’s main competitor.

The Sam’s Club food court, or Café as it’s officially known, serves up warm and cold treats that are, in some cases, just as good. So, the next time you’re feeling a little hangry before your marathon grocery shopping trip, make sure to pick up something to eat—we’re breaking down which food court items are well worth trying.

Pizza Pretzel

Yes, Sam’s Club serves up traditional single slices of pizza (and whole pizzas) just like Costco. But if you’re looking for the absolute best item at the Sam’s Club food court, it’s not plain ol’ pizza. It’s the Pizza Pretzel.

Sam’s Club’s Pizza Pretzel takes a warm, salty soft pretzel and turns it into a satisfying meal. Served hot, it includes a warmed-up pretzel topped with a thick (and wonderfully gooey) layer of melted cheese and slices of pepperoni. The pretzel itself is perfectly fine if you enjoy a soft pretzel, but the real star of the show is the rich, perfectly-melty cheese and the solidly flavorful pepperoni.

Served with a cup of marinara dipping sauce, I highly recommend dipping every bite at least once to really deliver an authentic pizza taste. As someone who’s not the biggest pepperoni fan, this is one meat-topped pizza I never pass up. Plus, cheese enthusiasts will love just how much of it tops this dish—you can even finish it off with a sprinkle of Parmesan if, like me, you can never get enough.

4 Berry Frozen Yogurt Sundae

Your local Sam’s Club Café definitely has a few different frozen yogurt choices on its menu, but there’s only one I recommend—and it’s not the Brownie Sundae, unfortunately. The best frozen treat is the 4 Berry Frozen Yogurt Sundae, which is what I grab to enjoy while I peruse my local store’s aisles.

The 4 Berry Sundae features a vanilla soft-serve style frozen yogurt base and a syrup-like sauce poured over top. That sauce is true to its name and features a blend of four berry flavors: blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, and strawberry. And it’s both wonderfully sweet and not too artificial in its flavor. It tastes like a true fruit compote rather than an out-of-a-bottle syrup, lending a sugary but not mouth-puckering level of sweetness.

My favorite detail is the texture of the 4 Berry sauce. Instead of being completely smooth and sauce-like, it actually contains pieces of fruit (proof of life, if you will, rather than it being an all-sugar concoction!). You’ll bite into strawberry chunks, round and ripe blueberries, and even some raspberry or blackberry seeds here and there. Against the cold, simple flavor and creaminess of the vanilla frozen yogurt, it’s simply perfect.

Any Slice Of Sam’s Club Pizza

You simply can’t make me pick one Sam’s Club pizza variety. You can’t. It’s not because they’re all amazing (I’m all veggie all the way!), but it’s because they’re all equally quite good. And when I’ve got a hangry toddler in tow during my Sam’s Club shopping trips, there’s nothing that soothes the entire family like slices of pizza from the food court.

Sam’s Club serves up slices and whole pies of many different kinds of pizza. I personally find all of the variations, including seasonal pizzas that can pop up like the Pepperoni & Jalapeño, to be solidly tasty options. They aren’t the most incredible pizzas, but they’re hearty, they feature a sizable smattering of toppings, and they aren’t overly greasy. In my opinion, that checks all of the boxes for a quick on-the-go meal.

My favorite way to eat Sam’s Club’s food court pizza, though, is to get a whole pizza to go. I find the whole pizzas are better than by-the-slice servings. And you cannot beat the price or the convenience as an easy dinner option.

Double Twisted Churro

Okay, technically, the Double Twisted Churro is no longer on the Sam’s Club food court menu. It was discontinued in 2024, much to the dismay of fans everywhere—and two years later, plenty of us are still lobbying the warehouse retailer to bring it back. But it was such an iconic snack that I simply can’t leave it off this list (and it is still on the Sam’s Club Café nutritional information list, so I have high hopes that one day it might reappear, even if just for a limited time!).

Priced at just $1 (okay, technically it was $0.99), the Double Twisted Churro was a super-long and well-seasoned strip of fried dough covered in cinnamon coating. It was cheap and wonderfully delicious, and it was a fantastic quick bite to grab before or after shopping. The dough was always decently crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, and if you’re a Disneyland churro fan, the experience was quite similar to what’s in the theme parks.

While you can’t grab one from the Café on your next visit, Sam’s Club does sell frozen churros you can crisp up at home. It’s almost as good an option.

Other Sam’s Club Food Court Finds Worth Trying

There are other items on the Sam’s Club food court menu that are worth trying, too. Frankly, if you’re expecting food court-style food, you won’t be disappointed by much here. You can find various flavors of soft-serve frozen yogurt including vanilla and chocolate (or a swirl of the two). Plus, Sam’s Club often releases a limited-time sundae that’s seasonal, with fresh fruit or a different fruity topping so there’s always something new to try.

Hot dogs are staples here, too, and they’re pretty good for their price. You can even load them up with toppings thanks to seasonal variations or heartier dogs, like the Polish-Style Beef Sausage. They may not be as notorious as Costco’s hot dogs, but Sam’s Club offers perfectly satisfying ones that’ll do the pinch when hunger strikes.

The only items I don’t recommend? The plain or buttered and cinnamon-topped pretzels aren’t great. They’re served warm, but they aren’t exactly standouts when it comes to flavor (and the cinnamon is a weak reminder of those stellar churros). And the Brownie Sundae isn’t as rich and indulgent as it sounds. The brownie is mid and not richly chocolatey, and the soft-serve pairing isn’t anything to write home about. So, skip these two in favor of better pretzel and ice cream options on the menu.
