The Best Things We Ate This Week (October 2-6)

Every week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Keebler Pretzel Pie Crust

This is an incredible pie crust. It’s salty, sweet, and crunchy. The idea of making a chocolate pie with this literally sends my brain to space. Please incorporate this into your upcoming holiday celebrations.

Favorite Day Strawberry Flavored Gummy Brains

Seasonally themed gummy candy can be lackluster. It often looks fun but tastes bad or boring. These gummies from Target are the exception to that rule. The flavor is bright. The gummy is soft and chewy. They look is fun and spooky. If you’re looking for Halloween gummies, do not hesitate to buy these.

Jim Beam Classic Highball

So many canned cocktails are so sweet, but this actually tastes like whiskey, soda, and citrus. It’s refreshing, simple, and classic. If you actually like bourbon whiskey, this is the canned cocktail you should be buying.

Trader Joe’s Portuguese Bacalhau Tartlettes

Trader Joe’s has put their spin on the famous Portuguese fish and potato pastry, pastéis de bacalhau. I am so excited because I love bacalhau (salted cod). This version from Trader Joe’s rules. It’s a crispy little shell filled with what tasted like extremely savory potatoes au gratin. What’s not to love?

Russell Stover Dark Chocolate Coconut Créme Pumpkin

This tastes like a very expensive chocolate you’d get at a chocolate shop. The chocolate is rich and tastes high-quality. The coconut creme is so creamy and dreamy. It’s a little salty. I would buy a million of these. They’re incredible.
