The food brand Unreal has been on a speedrun to revamp every snack from your childhood. Aiming to replace the artificial ingredients and excess sugar that are clogging up the candy aisle, they first set their sights on candy.

They conquered Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and M&M’s. Then they went after snack foods like chocolate covered almonds and pretzels. They certainly know their way around a chocolate product, that’s for sure. And now they’re finally taking on a new (and trendy) beast: plain ole’ peanut butter.
Move Over, Chocolate: A New Trend Is In Town
Peanut butter is having a moment and we simply love to see it. It’s everywhere these days (including my mouth, many times a day). Tons of coffee shops are putting peanut butter lattes on their menus. People are slapping big servings of PB on their burgers. You can’t escape the stuff! Unreal is capitalizing on the craze by refreshing the nostalgic peanut butter snack we all grew up eating (peanut butter M&M’s) and making them their way. They’ve dubbed them “Peanut Butter Drops.” They’re made with real ingredients, less sugar, and that crave-worthy taste.
Unreal is promising that every detail has been obsessed over. At this point, I may be an Unreal fanboy. They’ve earned it after I got their dark chocolate variety pack from Costco a while back. In fact, I had to stop getting it because I was eating them too quickly. After all that, I’d understand if you were inclined to take my words with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, I promise I’m just here to share the news!
The Revamp We’re Excited For
I was raised on peanut butter M&M’s, so I don’t take a revamp lightly. I am willing to hear Unreal out. For this one, the brand has focused on the crisp candy shell, the creamy melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter center, hints of sea salt and vanilla, and the roasted peanut aroma you know and love. So given their track record, I admit I have high hopes.
I look forward to putting Unreal’s Peanut Butter Drops to the test as soon as I can get my hands on a bag. If you’re looking to beat me to the punch, you can find them exclusively at Whole Foods and on Unrealsnacks.com for the time being with additional retailers rolling out soon.
