Oreo is known for their wide array of flavors. And with having so many flavors means that there are plenty that have been released and then taken from us. So, we’re taking a look back through some of the flavors we think Oreo should bring back (permanently preferably).

Now first, we’ve gotta mention that Oreo does, from time to time, rerun flavors. We’re seeing that right now with the return of Cinnamon Bun Oreos after 10 years. Fans all over are thrilled for the return and are eagerly trying to predict which flavor may be next for a rerun. Been waiting for this one? Be ready for July 6th when these release, they’re sure to fly off the shelves. In the meantime, let’s get into those other flavors we wish would make a comeback.
- Red Velvet
-
This is a popular mention on Reddit after the Cinnamon Bun and it has seen a rerelease before. So, this may be Oreo gauging which Oreos deserve a full time release. (Hey, we can hope, okay?) This is a rich chocolate cookie that has red velvet’s signature deep red color and filled with a cream cheese frosting. Who needs a slice of cake when you’ve got Oreos?
- Berry Burst
-
Hear us out. This is specifically for the Berry Burst as I really enjoyed those, but I know several of the berry flavors are popular candidates for returns and I’d really take any of them at this point. When you first hear the idea, it doesn’t seem like the best mashup. But chocolate covered fruit is popular, so why wouldn’t a chocolate cookie with a fruity filling work out, too? Get the joy of a chocolate covered berry without the melty chocolate mess. Berry Burst is my preference just because I like rounded berry flavors over just plain strawberry, but give me fruit and chocolate and I’ll be there.
- Fruity Crisp
-
Now this may just be a me thing (and I admit, I did just have a fruity crisp macaroon the other day that may be influencing this choice), but this Oreo was really good. You got a slight crisp from the cereal pieces in the cream. You got the bright fruity pop and the mellow sweetness from the vanilla cookies. This was a fun little Oreo that tasted like mornings watching cartoons and eating cereal. We love a bit of nostalgia, huh?
- Pistachio Thins
-
I personally never tried these, but they sound so good. Although I’d prefer if these were released as a full Oreo, rather than the thin, this seems like the perfect time to bring these back. You’d think with the popularity of Dubai-style chocolate, that a pistachio Oreo would be a no brainer from them. Anyone at Oreo listening? Next big idea right here. And we’re not the only ones―there’s a dedicated fan base on Reddit that wish these would make a comeback.
- Caramel Apple
-
This one, for as much as I love caramel apple flavor, was a little bit of a sell when it first came out. But because I’m partial to the flavor, I was willing to try. I was not disappointed. My first hang up was that it would be made with chocolate cookies―and for the flavor profile, that just didn’t seem right. If I’d thought to investigate, I would’ve seen immediately that they used vanilla cookies instead. This cookie was bright apple and smooth caramel rounded with the vanilla of the cookie. It was seriously a caramel apple without the sticky, caramel mess. It was almost like that iconic caramel apple sucker you only see around Halloween. But a little better.
- Post Malone
-
Fans also really loved the Post Malone collab Oreos and want to see them back. And we totally get why. Chocolate and vanilla cookies with salted caramel and shortbread? What’s not to love? It was a beautiful blend of flavors and should definitely make a comeback.
- Salted Caramel Brownie
-
If you’re seeing a theme in flavors, I’m not sorry. I stand by my love of caramel. And the Salted Caramel Brownie Oreos were rich with chocolate and sweet and salty from the caramel. I’m a sucker for a good mix of sweet and salty―and caramel and chocolate almost always delivers on that. This cookie was no exception. As a side note with this one, the blackout cake was similar in flavor, just minus the salted caramel. And honestly I’d be happy to see that one come back, too. Chocolate on chocolate for the chocoholics out there. Yes, please.
Honorable Mention
This is purely biased as this Oreo flavor is on the shelves right now. But since it’s a collab flavor, I know it’s going to go and never be seen again. I want to take a page out of my grandma’s book and stock up on as many packages as possible. (I’m not kidding, when Diet Dr Pepper changed formula decades ago, my grandma bought every local store’s supply of Diet before the change because she wanted the old flavor.) So, I get the flavor hoarding honestly at least. But that doesn’t mean this flavor doesn’t deserve to be hoarded.
I’m of course talking about the BTS collab flavor, brown sugar pancake. If you’ve not tried this Oreo yet, you are seriously missing out. It’s vanilla cookies with a brown sugar filling and is just a delightful little bite. I’m normally a milk dunker with my Oreos, but with these? Not needed. I could easily eat the whole package if left unattended. So it’s tragic to know that such a tasty flavor is leaving. I already want it back.
Oreo: Listen To The People
There are so many Oreo flavors out there, it’s hard to really say which does and doesn’t deserve a comeback. This is all just opinion formed from fan feedback and personal taste. But every Oreo flavor is going to have fans who want it back. Do you think Oreo should start a regular rerun schedule so fans can try their favorites again? Let us know your thoughts down below!
