One such item from the iconic selection of snack cakes is of course the little miniature donuts. Whether you want them chocolate glazed or covered in powdered sugar, there’s something to everyone’s taste in their delightful bite-size nature that makes them absolutely irresistible.
However, as someone who doesn’t suffer from any food allergies, snacking on things like Donettes has admittedly never really been given much of a second thought. But at long last, today someone has come to the rescue for anyone who might be missing out on all of the snack cake fun due to allergies. Let’s get into this new release, shall we?
A New (And Accessible) Dupe
Honestly folks, it’s pretty impressive how far food science has come. It feels like just about anything can be made to accommodate anyone’s allergies or food preferences with ease now. So, making something that is so beloved and nostalgic to people, like snack cakes, in an allergy friendly capacity only makes sense. And that is exactly what Heavenly Hunks is doing.
Heavenly hunks teamed up with Dupe Loops to create an entire line of shelf-stable, organic mini donuts that are meant to “dupe” the originals. And, we don’t just have one option to choose from for these either. They actually come in three flavors. The Bruce is your classic chocolate glazed vanilla mini doughnut, The Babysitter is a vanilla doughnut with a vanilla glaze and rainbow sprinkles, and The Plain Wayne is a vanilla doughnut simply topped with a vanilla glaze.
All of the donuts in this launch gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, and free from any artificial coloring. Their standard 4-oz. bags are filled with four individual mini donuts. Perhaps the best news of this launch is that they are now being stocked in Target locations across the United States.
Reviewers on the Target site seem to have a particular affinity for the Bruce, the chocolate flavor, not only for their nostalgic quality, but for their high-quality in their own right. As for us, we’re just happy to see there being more options that still feel celebratory and nostalgic.
