FUNDAY Natural Sweets, one of Australia’s biggest better-for-you candy brands, is making its official U.S. debut this September. The brand has already built a loyal following back home with some really colorful gummies that are sweet, chewy, and seriously fun to eat. Now, American candy fans will finally get a chance to see what the fuss is about.

Meet FUNDAY, Australia’s Better-For-You Candy Star

FUNDAY is an Australian candy brand created with a pretty simple idea: candy can still be candy without being loaded with sugar.

Starting September 13th, FUNDAY will be available at nearly 1,300 Target stores nationwide. The launch will bring five flavors to American shelves.

The brand launched in Australia in 2020 after founder Daniel Kitay spent years looking for a better way to make sweets. FUNDAY says its recipes were developed with help from food scientists, nutritionists, and chefs, with the goal of creating candy that tastes like the real thing while using less sugar.

Five Flavors Are Coming To Target

FUNDAY’s U.S. launch will offer five flavors, so there’s a little something for every kind of gummy fan.

Strawberry & Cream is the bestseller, which combines fruity strawberry flavor with a creamy texture. The 50g bag has no added sugar or sugar alcohols and contains 7g of plant-based prebiotic fiber.

There’s also the Peaches & Cream, which mixes juicy peach flavor with a creamy finish, with a soft and chewy texture that makes the gummies especially snackable.

Then there are Fruity Kangaroos and Fruity Koalas. These are exactly what they sound like: fruit-flavored gummies shaped like two of Australia’s most recognizable animals. I have a feeling the kangaroos and koalas flavors may end up being the stars of the U.S. launch.

Will They Be A Hit In The U.S.?

FUNDAY’s arrival comes with plenty of things that could make it stand out: no added sugar, no sugar alcohols, natural colors and flavors, gluten-free ingredients, and a good source of fiber.

But the brand is clearly hoping shoppers focus on the candy first and the better-for-you details second. The sweet flavors, squishy texture, and ridiculously cute shapes are meant to make FUNDAY feel like a proper candy treat.

I think that could be the secret to its success. Instead of asking candy fans to give up the fun stuff, FUNDAY has built its brand around making the fun stuff with a different recipe.
