Trader Joe’s is very, very good at making products that you can’t find anywhere else – but which feel pretty similar to some of ‘em. Amongst its snacks and cookies are more than a few items that fairly clearly imitate the vibe of some bigger brands and their outputs, but which have a TJ’s spin on them that makes them one-of-a-kind.

A Trader Joe’s fan recently asked the question, though: What should the store place alongside its Takis and TimTams dupes? Which products should it make its own version of? And people responded in a big way. Here are some of the best suggestions we saw.

Trader Joe’s Choco Tacos

The Choco Taco hasn’t been in circulation since 2022, but people still remember it. They remember it very well. We were talking about it last week, in fact. And people really, really want Trader Joe’s to try their hand at making one. In the Reddit thread that asked customers what foods they want TJ’s versions of, the suggestion of a Choco Taco got the most upvotes.

And just think of what it could do with it: A Tajin rim, perhaps? A churro swirl? A spice-forward shell? I’m salivating just thinking about it.

Trader Joe’s Pudding Pops

Another discontinued item here that people want TJ’s to put its mind to, Pudding Pops have been gone for years – and honestly, Trader Joe’s, this one could be yours for the taking. Especially when you consider what kind of flavors it could play with here: Yes, vanilla and chocolate would be a winner, but what about condensed milk with cardamom? Or mango and chili? Or chocolate and lime, or raspberry, or cranberry? Let us know if your product development team is hiring…we can talk.

Trader Joe’s Paneer

This isn’t exactly a product that Trader Joe’s could imitate, per se, but more of a fairly glaring omission from its lineup. Paneer is easy to make, versatile, and has a wide appeal – and yet, it’s nowhere to be seen at Trader Joe’s. They could make a flavored version if they so wish, or just stick to the classic vibe.

Trader Joe’s Rotisserie Chicken

A particularly popular suggestion in the Reddit thread that started all this, a rotisserie chicken from Trader Joe’s is on a lot of people’s wishlists. One customer pointed out that they have a cold, refrigerated version, but as one person said, “I really want one like they have at Costco.” That is, a hot one. And think of what it could do here. Chili lime? Lemon zest, oregano, and sumac? Pickle rotisserie chicken? Honestly, we wouldn’t put it past ‘em.
