Halloween is coming, which means it’s time for costumes, candy, scary movies, and, as of last year, the reanimated corpse of Santa Claus.

If you missed this particular development in holiday lore, let me catch you up. Last year, Twix created Hallowmas, a Halloween-Christmas mashup centered around Zombie Claus. The story goes that Santa was bitten by a zombie and, rather than letting a minor inconvenience like death interfere with his holiday duties, came back as the undead face of Hallowmas.
And now he’s back for year two. This time, he has new Twix Skulls, $20,000 to give away, and plans to roam the streets of Williamsburg on Halloween. Normal Santa stuff.
New Twix Skulls Are Joining Hallowmas
The big candy news this year is the arrival of Twix Skulls. Twix hasn’t given us much more information about them yet, other than describing them as a new cookie-and-candy combo, so there are still some questions. What exactly is inside a Twix Skull? How skull-like are we talking? I need more details.
For now, we know they’re joining the returning Twix Ghoulish Green and Twix Fun Size as part of this year’s Hallowmas lineup.
And while I’m still not entirely sure Halloween and Christmas needed to be combined into one holiday, I am willing to hear Twix out if candy is involved.
Zombie Claus Is Giving Away $20,000
Zombie Claus has also found time in his busy undead schedule to judge the Twix Hallowmas Rewards Contest.
Fans can submit photos or videos showing off their Hallowmas spirit through November 8th, and there are three prizes up for grabs. The winner for Most Hallowmas Spirit gets $5,000 and Twix, as does the person crowned Best Zombie Claus Look-Alike. One grand-prize winner will take home $10,000 and, yes, even more Twix.
I have several questions about what qualifies someone as the best look-alike for the zombified corpse of Santa Claus, but $5,000 is $5,000.
You don’t need to buy anything to enter, but you do need to be 18 or older and a legal resident of the U.S. or D.C.
You Can Meet Zombie Claus In Williamsburg
And because an undead Santa cannot be contained to the internet, Zombie Claus is heading to Williamsburg on Halloween.
On October 31st, he’ll be wandering the streets handing out Twix to trick-or-treaters rather than waiting for people to knock on his door. Twix says more details will be shared through its social channels closer to Halloween.
So, to recap: Santa got bitten by a zombie, came back from the dead, invented a new holiday, acquired $20,000, and is now roaming Williamsburg handing out candy.
Sure. Why not?
