Pop Tarts are generally understood to be a kid food. I mean, my school even served them in the mornings as part of our school lunch program when I was growing up. They are simply a quintessential food in the wide array of nostalgic childhood eats. But at the end of the day, anyone can indulge in the crumbly, tender pastries. And, with Pop Tarts’ most recent round of collaborations, that’s exactly what we are seeing them try to tap into.

Generally, I wouldn’t say that Pop Tarts’s key product demographic is those who want to see the word “death” printed in bold on the packaging, but anyone can shamelessly indulge in a Pop Tarts. And after the success of Liquid Death and Pop Tarts’ last collaboration, it was time to finally flip the script.
Another Round Of Tasty Treats
For anyone who doesn’t know, Liquid Death is a beverage company that primarily makes canned water and sparkling water. But over the last couple of years, they have expanded their drink selection to include much much more. Now they make lemonades, teas, and have even taken a special interest in brand collaboration. While their flavors are known to be just as funky as their macabre packaging, I think the one that sticks out most to us is the collaboration between Pop Tarts and Liquid Death to make a Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry-inspired drink.
What we felt was a bit kitschy must’ve performed well in the end seeing as they’re taking another go at the intersection between gothic beverages and beloved childhood treats. This time, though, it’s not a new drink to look out for. Instead, Pop Tarts is making limited-edition pastries inspired by one of the most beloved flavors of Liquid Death.
Squeezed to Death is the orange soda-flavored sparkling water that inspired this new Pop Tarts flavor, and they are going all in. The golden orange pastry crust contains a layer of orange-flavored filling, and the pastry is topped with white frosting and orange sprinkles. Not only are the Pop Tarts themselves inspired by the Liquid Death flavor, but the packaging is too. They’re saying goodbye to the Pop Tarts blue, and embracing black and gold. There’s no denying it, these are not typical Pop Tarts.
