Starting tomorrow, October 1, we will unabashedly dive headfirst into all things spooky. Halloween is one of the most exciting times to be exploring what different fast food and restaurant chains have to offer, because they’re always doing something festive to get their customers in the mood to celebrate. One company in particular is going above and beyond this year with their Halloween menu by adding 12 new and exciting drinks to their lineup. That company is, of course, Dunkin’.

And, in honor of the upcoming holiday and out of our sheer curiosity as to whether or not Dunkin’ is in over their heads with this new fall menu, we picked out one of the most interesting drinks in the lineup to try out for our dear readers. The Terror-misu Cloud Latte that they are offering as part of the Halloween menu is a play on the new tiramisu flavor that they added this fall, but it has the unique addition of their all-new Purple Marshmallow Cold Foam on top. It looks oh-so spooky, and we’ve been dying to try out these new flavors. Let’s get into it.
Our Official Sporked Review
Pros — Generally, we here at Sporked are fans of the traditional Dunkin’ lattes. They’re not necessarily the best lattes in the world, but they’re always satisfying. With this specialty latte in particular, though, we had our doubts about the tiramisu flavor, and whether or not the marshmallow flavor in the cold foam would be executed well. To our delight, the result is almost just an amplified version of traditional latte flavors.
Since tiramisu is, in essence, a creamy coffee dessert it makes sense to us that this kind of just tasted like a coffee flavored coffee with some extra creaminess and sweetness. And, it was delightfully not too artificial of a flavor.
As for the cold foam in particular, it was more reminiscent of the flavor of marshmallow fluff than an artificially-flavored marshmallow syrup that we sometimes get from coffee shops. Plus, the cold foam had a wonderfully fluffy quality to it in addition to its spooky and charming pale purple color.
Cons — Honestly, we’re kind of grasping at straws to try to find things that we don’t really enjoy about this latte. If you’d like a traditional Dunkin’ latte that is sweet and creamy, then you’re probably going to like this. But if we really have to find something to nit-pick, then I suppose the combination of marshmallow cold foam and a tiramisu flavored coffee doesn’t necessarily make sense. However, in practice the flavors don’t necessarily contrast either. That said, if you’re someone who is adverse to a very sweet and creamy coffee then we wouldn’t recommend it.
