We Tried The New Bubbies Pumpkin Pie Drizzled Mochi Ice Cream

We’re no strangers to the mochi ice cream that Bubbies is putting out. In fact, we’re pretty big fans of most of their work. That said, I’m a fair critic so I’m not going to just give them a pass on their latest creation. Up next to the tasting table is their new pumpkin pie drizzled mochi ice cream. How does it stack up to the rest of their offerings? Let’s get into it.

Our Verdict

Pros: While pumpkin pie flavored ice cream might not be the perfect thing to snack on as things start to cool off, I’m still thoroughly pleased with these mochi bites from Bubbies. Sporked’s Gwynedd Stuart commented on the firmer mochi skin that Bubbies puts out and how someone might like it that way and guess what, that’s me. It’s sturdy enough to hold up as I’m chomping down while moving around the house. I got places to be!

Inside the whip cream drizzled outer skin you’ll find a cool and refreshing pumpkin pie flavored ice cream. It’s delicately spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves but still light enough that you won’t feel like you’re having a whole slice of pumpkin pie. As is the case with all Bubbies products, it’s certified gluten-free as a nice added bonus.

This limited edition flavor will only be available for the season (or until sold out) at select retailers with an SRP of $6.99-$7.99 per 6-pack box.

Cons: It feels crazy to say and a little pedantic but I would love more pumpkin pie flavor in these. The flavor level at the moment is just a little too faint for me. If I’m ending my day off with these (which is the most common use case in my life) then I want something that’ll sit on my tongue for a bit as I get ready for bed. Let me revel in the experience. Let me go to bed with thoughts of pumpkin pie and whipped cream drizzle on my mind.

In a similar feeling, I want more than six mochi to a box. Look, maybe that’s the Costco shopper in me, but six dainty little balls of ice cream filled mochi will not last me very long. Granted, that can easily be fixed by just buying more boxes. You can clearly tell I’m struggling to find any cons for these pumpkin pie mochi from Bubbies.
