Pizza Hut’s Heart Shaped Pizza Is Back, But Not for Long

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably started thinking about what you’re going to eat on Valentine’s Day (I mean, I’m usually thinking about what I’m going to eat next every second of my life, so doing it around V-Day’s not that much different—but it’s an excuse to have something extra delicious, in the disguise of it being all about love). This year, it may just well be pizza. There’s something about splitting a pie with your partner that feels casually, effortlessly romantic…until you start fighting over the last slice, that is.

As with any time of the year, there are plenty of pizza restaurants fighting for business at Valentine’s Day—but Pizza Hut could well be getting the call this year, thanks to the return of its Heart-Shaped Pizza. It’s love, in dough form.

Grab Pizza Hut’s Heart-Shaped Pizza Until February 22

Pizza Hut’s Heart-Shaped Pizza may be trickier to slice evenly than its other ‘za’s (although we guess you could just go straight down the middle), but what you lose in convenience, you gain in sheer fun. Each medium hand-tossed crust is formed into a heart shape and then topped with cheese and a single topping. You can add extra toppings if you want, too, but just bear in mind that you’ll have to pay a little bit more. Oh, and you’ll have to cut it yourself at home, which we think is a pretty smart move—it doesn’t have quite the same structural soundness as a standard pie.

The Heart-Shaped Pizza is only available at participating locations (hopefully you’ll have one left near you, too, considering that Pizza Hut’s closing 250 stores), and you can grab it for takeout or delivery. Prices will vary from place to place, but generally speaking, it’s unlikely to set you back much more than a standard medium 1-topping pizza. Interestingly, too, Pizza Hut isn’t forcing you to get in there before or on Valentine’s Day: Its Heart-Shaped Pizza is available until February 22.

Everyone knows that a Heart-Shaped Pizza needs some hearty sides, and Pizza Hut wants to keep things in the family when you order. It’s currently running its $7 Deal Lover’s Menu (hey, it has the word “lover” in it, so we guess it’s kinda appropriate for Valentine’s Day?), where you can grab a host of sides for $7 or more when you double up. Wings, breadsticks, melts, and dessert rolls are all up for grabs for you to split with your amoré.

Honestly, though, all of those costs add up—so if you want to keep things on the more reasonable side this year, we wouldn’t blame ya. Grab yourself a bag of our taste-tested frozen chicken wings or some sweet potato fries, combine them with your heart-shaped pizza, and enjoy the dual warm glows of flavor and frugality.
