Summer is officially here! And mama, she came in swinging this year. I hope your AC is in working condition and your landlord covers your electricity because that bill is going to skyrocket with the heat we’re getting. While you certainly can and should stop by Costco to stand in the walk-in fridge to cool down, you should be prepared to bring home a few groceries to help you extend that relief when they inevitably kick you out. Wondering what to buy at Costco while you soak up that sweet, sweet refrigeration? Here are the best things to buy at Costco in July.

Kirkland Signature Peaches and Cream Bar Cake

It’s peach season, baby! And of course, Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand had to get in on the good stuff. This peaches and cream cake seems ideal for backyard birthday parties in the heat of summer. It’s not a birthday pie so you won’t get side eyed by the cake-lovers, but it’s still much lighter than a traditional birthday cake (although, we’d never dissuade you from picking up the iconic Kirkland chocolate cake—but save that for the indoor parties).

Afters Dubai Chocolate Ice Cream Bar

Dubai chocolate! The treat that’s taken the internet by storm has been turned into an ice cream bar. And it’s finally made its way into Costco. But hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day and viral products can’t hit shelves immediately, so we’ll let it slide. I’m just glad they’re out in time to melt all over my hand in the summer heat.

Carbone Classic Vodka Sauce

Admittedly, Carbone’s classic vodka sauce has been available at Costco for a while and I’ve just never given it the time of day. I was always too focused on the Rao’s sauce right next to it. But this sauce recently got the stamp of approval from Sporked’s Ariana Losch, who tasted and ranked all the Carbone sauces. This vodka sauce does have a quirk: You have to add your own heavy cream to the mix for it to turn that lovely pinkish color, but it’s worth the extra effort.

Del Real Three Cheese Quesadilla Bites

I know what you’re thinking and yes—from what I can tell, these are essentially just mini pupusas. Bite-sized corn quesadillas stuffed with cheese. Confusing in name but easy to understand in execution. The only thing better than a gooey, cheesy quesadilla is the version that I can endlessly pop right into my mouth. Grab these at Costco for all the late night cravings you may have this summer!

Chef Hak’s Firecracker Chicken with Veggies

Okay, okay this one certainly won’t cool you down in these summer months. It is July after all, and we should still have something to dig into while we celebrate the festivities. Costco seems to have retired all of their rocket pop-flavored offerings this year, so we’ll have to reach for the next best thing. Which happens to be this firecracker chicken that gets bonus points for not spooking all the pets in your neighborhood…hopefully!

Chobani Complete Greek Yogurt Drink

Back to business. The business of cooling you down, that is. Any ol’ refrigerated beverage alone can certainly do the job. But what about one that sticks to your insides a little to fill you up and fuel you with protein at the same time? That’s like a cheat code to surviving and thriving a truly scorching girl summer. Costco stocks Chobani Complete in a variety pack of strawberry cream and mixed berry vanilla, which sounds downright summery.
