What to Buy at Publix This Week, According to Pro Taste Testers

Publix hasn’t made its way to L.A. (yet) and I’ve never actually been to Florida (too scared). The (one) benefit of a global society is that I can browse the virtual aisles of Publix from the comfort of my couch. There’s a lot to explore so it can get a little overwhelming. I decided to go in with an explorative mindset and try to find foods that I can’t find/haven’t seen at my local grocery store. Painterland Sisters Blueberry Lemon Yogurt

I’m trying to be a yogurt guy! It’s a tough road to navigate. Do I just take the easy way out and start my day off with a Chobani Flip? That seems like more of a dessert kinda thing. I want something that just toes the line. Painterland Sisters blueberry lemon yogurt fits the bill. Exciting enough that I won’t fall back to sleep but just healthy enough that I’ll feel good about it.

Cracker Barrel Aged Reserve Cheddar Cheese

I’ve made my way through Cracker Barrel’s line of boxed mac and cheeses, but I’ve never tried their cheese straight from the block (the Sporked team likes it though!). I’ve yet to touch the fresh stuff. This is going to make a great cracker snack or, if you’re feeling ambitious, bowl of gooey, stringy mac and cheese.

Unreal Dark Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat Bars

A healthier Snickers! Or rather, one that’s made with smarter ingredients? What I’m really after is a bag full of “Snickers” so I can dig into it while vegging out at night. Unreal is prepared to provide me that, and I applaud them.

Lotus Foods Jade Pearl Rice Ramen

I’ve had plenty of ramen in my life, but I’ve never had fancy gluten free ramen made with Jade Pearl rice before. It looks fun! It looks healthy! In fact, there’s a lot of healthy options here so far. Is Publix actually the Erewhon of Florida?? More research will need to be done on this hypothesis.

Death Wish Coffee Co Premium Ground Dark Roast Coffee

I have a love/hate relationship with coffee. I’m happy to announce that I’m currently in the throes of the “love” portion of said relationship, so I can share this one. I’ve heard of Death Wish but I’ve never had. They’re known for a bit funkier blends like blueberry and chocolate hazelnut. I could only find the classic dark roast at Publix, so I guess that will have to do.
