Whataburger’s Getting Into The Festive Spirit With Its New Menu

Ho, ho, ho, etc. The holidays are a-coming! And the fast food restaurants are here to provide us delicious festive treats! Most fast food chains have been more concerned with Halloween than anything beyond that in recent weeks, but now, we’re starting to see a change in the tide, with a few places beginning to drop their holiday offers and menus. Popeyes has just announced that it’s bringing back its Cajun-Style Turkey, and we’ve just got a bumper crop of menu items from Whataburger, with new sandwiches and drinks for all to enjoy.

It’s not all cranberry sauce and stuffing, either. There’s a little spice to this one. Let’s discuss.

Whataburger’s Bacon Blaze Lineup

Whataburger’s just revealed its limited-time Bacon Blaze lineup, which the restaurant says caters to a couple of things it says its customers are hankering for. “Guests are looking for more variety from restaurant menus — from bold, spicy flavors to beverages that feel fresh and seasonal,” said the restaurant’s corporate chef, James Sanchez, in a press release. “This lineup lets us deliver both: bringing back a flavor Guests have already told us they love while introducing new choices that feel right for the season.”

In practice, what this means is that the Bacon Blaze lineup has a combination of heat-forward sandwiches and holiday-appropriate drinks. There are four items to order, and they are…

• Bacon Blaze Jalapeño Double: A fan-favorite sandwich makes a comeback! This burger combines two 100% beef patties with jalapeño ranch, jalapeño cream cheese, sliced jalapeños, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Double meat, triple heat. It also comes in a Jr. size.  
• Bacon Blaze Chicken: Prefer white meat? Whataburger’s dropping an all-new Bacon Blaze Chicken, which you can order with grilled chicken or Whatachick’n, on a toasted potato bun.
• Sleigh Berry Whatafresher: Let’s get festive. This new refresher combines tart cranberry, citrus, and what Whataburger calls “a hint of cozy holiday warmth.” Real freeze-dried cranberry pieces and soft whip are also in the mix. 
• White Chocolate Raspberry Shake: This dessert shake mixes sweet white chocolate and raspberry with a vanilla shake for a cheesecake-like drink. Sounds delish. Probably is delish.

Whataburger’s new festive menu dropped yesterday, and we’d imagine it’ll be around for a good month or two, given that we’re still not quite fully in the holiday season. However, all good things must come to an end – and honestly, this does sound good. I like that Whataburger hasn’t just gone down the sage and onion route with its chicken sandwich, and that there’s some heat! Everything gets a bit mild this time of year, so these options are a welcome star in the fast food constellation.
