World Market has a tight grip on the “cutesy, odd, and yet still practical” corner of the food and furniture market. I recently came across a roundup of products from the World Market sale section and it included chicken spread, Mojito-flavored popcorn, and a jar of Heinz baked beans you keep in the fridge. Would I eat all that? Yes. Do I have some questions about who else would eat these things? 100%. But if you’re shopping for people with similarly quirky taste, then World Market stocking stuffers are the truth and the way. Food is practical; food at World Market is a little bit out there, and that means there are loads of slightly weird things to stuff into those oversized, fur-lined socks you’ve hung from the mantle (also weird behavior, arguably). Here are some World Market stocking stuffers I picked up on a recent visit
- Nestle Kit Kat Mini Assorted Wafer Bars Bag
-
I love the idea of everyone getting a little sampler from around the world in their stocking! This Kit Kat variety bag comes with five of their favorite flavors: original, white chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, and hazelnut. Take the time to make sure everyone gets one of each or just throw a handful in each stocking and let the fam trade for their favorites. World Market also carries unique flavors like matcha and orange, so you could just get a bag of each for your own DIY assortment!
- Super Sour Green Apple Reindeer Snot Candy Slime
-
No, World Market isn’t selling actual reindeer snot. They’re selling candy slime and calling it reindeer snot, and it’s clearly a perfect World Market stocking stuffer for people who don’t have weak stomachs. While I personally shudder at the idea of edible slime, I think you can get this for the kids if they have some supervision. No one wants their already hyped nephew going to town on a container of sugary slime and then climbing the town Christmas tree in his underpants (again).
- Terry’s Milk Chocolate Orange
-
It can be hard to find the best edible stocking stuffers for people with still-maturing palates. They’re too old for “reindeer snot,” but not quite old enough to appreciate a flight of mini hot sauces. That’s why we’re lucky World Market has Terry’s milk chocolate oranges up the wazoo. They’re delightfully playful but sophisticated, too. It’s basically the Christmas version of enjoying the Cutie you find in your lunch box.
- Peppermint Hard Candy Spoons
-
Tis the season for peppermint! Sure, you could simply use a candy cane as a stir stick, but these peppermint spoons are way cuter if you happen to be shopping for World Market stocking stuffers. Turn hot chocolate into peppermint hot chocolate by adding one of these peppermint spoons. Better yet, turn hot chocolate into peppermint hot chocolate by adding peppermint schnapps and then add a peppermint so no one judges you when they smell the schnapps on your breath on Christmas morning.
- Jelly Belly Harry Potter Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Jelly Beans
-
The holidays are the perfect time to have a Harry Potter marathon. While the chocolate wands that World Market sells won’t actually work, a box of Bertie Bott’s comes with wild flavors straight out of the movies. You might be stuffing someone’s stocking with a box containing beans that taste like rotten egg, grass, or even vomit. So maybe only get this World Market stocking stuffer for your least favorite loved one.
- Lindt Lindor Holiday Milk Chocolate Truffle Maxi Ball
-
You wanted a stocking stuffer, so a stocking stuffer you shall get! No family in my tax bracket has stockings big enough to accommodate this comically large Lindt Lindor ball. Luckily, it is simply a large plastic vessel for regular sized Lindt truffles that simply looks like one gigantic truffle. You can always divvy them up.
