PepsiCo is making cuts. No, not to their staff (although, who knows), but to their soda line-up. Get ready to say goodbye to a few Pepsi, Rockstar, and Mountain Dew flavors.
Yes, after a year of exciting new drops from PepsiCo including red, white, and blue Mountain Dew and Pepsi Lime and Pepsi Peach, and news of plenty of exciting new products on the horizon, it’s time to bid some PepsiCo flavors adieu. According to our sources, here are the products Pepsi has decided to permanently discontinue.
Discontinued Pepsi Flavors
Pepsi is cutting Pepsi Mango (and Pepsi Mango Zero Sugar) as well as Pepsi Nitro (regular and vanilla) in January. It seems likely that Pepsi is taking Mango off the shelves to make way for the new Pepsi Cherries and Cream. Thanks to Supersoda Superstan Team Supernova, we now know that this new Pepsi flavor will be available in 12-packs in both full sugar and zero sugar.
Discontinued Rockstar Flavors
Most of the cuts for Pepsi-owned Rockstar Energy are flavors that are only available regionally. Three flavors of the newly released Rockstar Focus line—Honeydew Melon, Passionfruit Mango, and Watermelon Kiwi—as well as Rockstar Punched Lime Freeze are all going away in January. We don’t know if these will be replaced with new releases as of yet, but we do know that there will be a new Rockstar Boom flavor releasing in 2025: Pina Colada.
Discontinued Mountain Dew Flavors
Now for the one you’ve all been waiting for (or dreading). Mountain Dew Spark (and Mountain Dew Spark Zero Sugar), Mountain Dew Major Melon (and Mountain Dew Major Melon Zero Sugar), and Mountain Dew Frostbite are all being discontinued. Spark and Major Melon are both going “out of market” (in other words, no longer being brought into stores) in January, and Frostbite is leaving in May.
Additionally, Dollar General exclusive Mountain Dew Maui Burst will no longer be available in 6-packs, and Mountain Dew Voltage will no longer be available in fountain machines. Plus, Mountain Dew Kickstart Grape will be discontinued in January.
Unfortunately, there are no new Mountain Dew flavors set to take the spots of these dearly departed flavors—for now. But if you know PepsiCo, you know that they always have 20 surprises up their sleeve, so that could all change very soon.
It’s never a good day when a soda is discontinued because every flavor is somebody’s favorite. If any of these are yours, make sure you stock up while you have the chance!
I finally found a soda I really enjoyed (Mountain dew spark ) if I had known you were going to discontinue it I would of stock piled it. Sorry to say you lost a customer.
Why would you get rid of kickstart grape. It’s grape flavor! pretty sure most people’s favorite. Bad move, bring it back.
They killed off grape but kept the crappy flavors that always sit on the shelf, makes no sense.
What companies should do if they’re going to stop mass production is allow special orders. Either through grocery stores or just the company website and produce on demand. Maybe offer a subscription service if they decide on a minimum required to produce it. They wouldn’t lose money that way and customers would be happy.
I heard Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi is being Discontinued .
Do you know if this is true?
We’ve been Pepsi drinkers for years but noticed it doesn’t taste as good as it used to. So I just looked it up online and read they changed the recipe in 2023 cutting back on the amount of sugar used. It must have taken longer to rid our local market(s) of the previous recipe because just today 1/16/25 I read about it. No wonder our household will no longer purchase Pepsi in any amount! I was buying at least four 12 packs at a time as we drank so much, but not now! No more Pepsi in our house… unless PepsiCo goes back to their previous higher sugar recipe.
How can you miss something you never had in Pepsi products. Oh don’t forget about the flav of …. WEll it’s being discarded, you actually know what won’t sell but do you know why???? And have you ever been to other places in the United States of America??? Well Pepsi, I guess that started. Happy holidays!!!
You should come back out with Mt dew game fuel , when it’s out that’s all I drink, you bring it out long enough to tease us then take it away, it needs to stay out like some of the others like baja blast
please don’t get rid of the Nitro, it’s the only soda I can drink, because it doesn’t have carbonated water.
All you have to do is let something carbonated go flat, the carbonation dissipates after a short time. You could blow bubbles in it to make it go away faster. Open the container and the carbonation will start going away.
I’m diabetic and they’re just taking away every reason to give them my money for products that DON’T jack my sugars up. What the actual Hell PepsiCo?
i’m absolutely fuming been keeping this company in business for the past year because of mango pepsi
I should make a new flavor with major melon and code red u get cherry water melon. I do it all the time
I would love to have all the old flavor and sodas come back #bringbacksupernova, #bringbackwhiteout, #LeaveBajablastpermanentlyinstoresforever
Don’t take away the Pepsi mango it tastes good
I loved Pepsi nitro in the cream color can. I loved the nitro in blue can. Ever time you put something out good you take it away. And you got rid of the vodo favor of Skittles a couple years ago . Don’t get rid of the those 3. Or is you still have some how can I get them? Thankyou 217 251 6140 Ruth Guyer
PLEASE PLEASE!!! I’M BEGGING YOU, PLEASE DON’T TAKE MY SPARK ZERO AWAY!!! I mix 2 Starburst Strawberry flavor packets in it AND IT IS THE BOMB!!!! This is the only drink I’ve been enjoying since y’all started making it!!! Please don’t do this!!! If y’all want to send me a lifetime supply I’ll pay for it! I love this drink!!! I can’t live without it!!!
It good to and it in the room
I’m not surprised to find out that they’re discontinuing the best Rockstar flavor (Lime Freeze). I travel all over the country for work. In the past 5 years, I haven’t been able to find it outside of Wisconsin, and only in 3 independent stores there. Maybe if it was offered in more places, it would have been more successful.
I love the Nitro Vanilla…it doesn’t hurt my stomach like the other colas.
Kickstart Grape, my absolute favorite of all Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Kickstart flavors, has been unavailable for at least a year in my area!
My favorite too, they have tons of the ones nobody buys, grape always vanishes as soon as it hits shelves, disappointing!
Complete RUBBISH!!! Mountain Spark is all I drink right now, it is literally the best flavor I have ever tasted in a soda. This is such a mistake, every store by my house has trouble keeping it in stock, it flies off the self’s, to the point where now if I see it, I just buy all of what they have in stock, and I still run out all the time. That’s gotta mean I am not the only one that likes it alot. I am writing Pepsi an angry letter!!!
Me too!!!! SPARK ZERO IS ALL I DRINK!!!
Eric, I totally agree with you. I am (or was) a Spark fanatic – at least one to two a day! , and now it’s be discontinued. That’s always seems to be the case. They don’t both listening to what their sales of it is doing. I am with you on that letter. I’m irritated.
I wish you guys would bring back crystal pepsi.
Agreed was very good and it didn’t have any food coloring gun I don’t let people taste it or promoted then he took promoted and no in the early 90s good car manufacturer spring back car names when are they bring back Crystal Pepsi what do they have to lose their huge corporation
Yes sir that’s one that should be brought back
Love Pepsi nitrous
Vanilla Pepsi Nitro yeah I tried it very good never even seen them talk about it or anything I believe that they tried marketing it better and letting people taste test it it would sell has a nice flavor to it and very smooth rather drink that than Rockstar or these weird flavored tasting energy drinks
Mango has been discontinued for awhile now. Nowhere in California has it and the last time I tried to get it a few years ago the guy said it was discontinued.
It wasn’t discontinued. I don’t know why they send it were they do but I’m able to buy it in most major cities. Just got two 12 packs of mango zero in chicago.
I really do wish that you would sell real sugar Mountain Dew in Lake Charles, La. That is the only soda I would drink. I very much love that flavor and it reminds me of the better times that were my younger days. Thank you for listening to what I had to say.
They’re great drinks ,some people like to try different tastes in a soda.
Yeah dumb idea and they didn’t even promote them at all let people taste test them everywhere there go up people would buy them …Poor marketing very poor.
You can tie get rid of the code red u need to keep the code red the code red needs to stay dang your stupid if u get rid of the code red
Red dye 40 ..cancer
Trust me. They are not going to get rid of code red any time soon, so don’t worry about code red. As long as you keep buying it and supporting it, it won’t go anywhere anytime soon.
I’m sad and disappointed that Major Melon is leaving the Market.
I work for pepsi bottling ventures (PBV) in north Carolina. Eventhough it was a great mountain dew flavor I could see why it is getting discontinued. It’s getting discontinued due to low/poor sales. When I worked on the cold bottle side (convenient store sales). For every case we would sell in (24 bottles), at least 16 bottles would end up expiring causing us to have to pick it up and give the store credit for them. That means, within a 3+ month period, only 8 (maybe 12) bottles would sell, that is less than 4 bottles per month, versus flavors like code red, baja blast, and voltage that would sell at least 1 case per month per flavor (or more, depending on area).
The reason sparked (spark) is getting discontinued is because of the same reason as major melon, poor/low sales. In north Carolina we already discontinued sparked (spark) in the beginning of 2024. We discontinued it early, because we sell stuff based on sales, and we had already seen it coming for a while now. We are a privately held company, and we are only 30-40% owned by Pepsico, so we have a little more freedom compared to companies that majority owned by Pepsico and are publicly traded.
They didn’t see how Waco, TX was ALWAYS running out of Spark Zero!!! I would go all over the city and clean them out all the time!
Damn thats crazy
Just tell me this Y’all going to be bringing it back white out or supernova and or keeping Baja blast permanently forever in stores and not removing it even thou its at taco bell even they run out i dont like anything zero sugar but all that would be cool
I agree that the original is the best! I also feel they should bring the “Throwback” back as well. It is so yummy!
I agree, the ” throwback” with real sugar at least doesn’t have artificial chemical sweeteners.
It should be illegal to discontinue my dew frostbite!!
That’s the all time best flavor EVER!!!
#SAVETHEFROSTBITE
#WHYPEPSICOWHY
#GETRIDOFCODEREDINSTEAD
I’m with you on that
#SAVETHEFROSTBITE
#WHYPEPSICOWHY
for the code red im not because thats one of the original flavors its really good #SORRYBUTKEEPCODERED
They need to bring back the Mountain Dew “Throwback” with real sugar.
It’s my favorite also.
We used to be able to buy it here in SE Michigan till about May of 24, then they stopped selling it
Agreed better for you but they want to give us the garbage cuz they’re cheap United States has full of food food cancer been on the rise
Where did you get this information, specifically about pepsi nitro? You list no sources, and this is the only place that I see it says it will be discontinued in the future. I simply ask for proof/sources.
How sad! Its such a good flavor and has an awesome mouthfeel to it, love the Vanilla Nitro 🙁
Agreed. Pepsi doesn’t know how to promote it or never did to my knowledge nobody even knew it existed very poor marketing
I work for pepsi bottling ventures in north Carolina. when I was on the cold bottle side (convenient store sales), we already discontinued pepsi nitro in the single cans in the beginning of 2024 due to very low sales. It was an awesome drink, but sadly the sales never supported keeping it.
This came directly from Pepsi’s national delete list. 🙂
Honestly I never got to try supernova but it was removed before I could try it I was little when it was in stores I was born in ’98 and I know it was in stores I believe and I’m 26 now I haven’t seen it for a long time
