AriZona has made their strangely-capitalized name in tea, but they’ve got a robust lineup of other drinks as well. We’ve got our hands on the newest of these mystery mixes; let’s find out if Whipped Pineapple Orange makes for a good juice cocktail.
What is Whipped Pineapple Orange?
In short? It’s Dole Whip. The can design definitely features a Dole Whip in a cocktail glass and the “whipped pineapple” callout in the name makes it pretty obvious.
I was researching good food options for an upcoming trip to Disney World (please give me your recommendations in the comments) when I learned that Dole Whip was invented specifically for Disney World. Back in the ‘70s, Dole started selling a soft-serve vanilla ice cream topped with pineapple chunks at Disneyland. When the time came to introduce the treat to Orlando’s Magic Kingdom, Dole determined that the vanilla soft-serve wouldn’t hold up to Florida heat. Thus, Dole scientists had to create a non-dairy version of the concept—the Dole Whip we know and love today.
And now that we know the history of the flavor, let’s move onto the full review of the new Dole Whip-inspired AriZona juice cocktail.

Pros: This is everything you want and more. This is a perfect imitation of the frozen treat that so clearly inspired it. Not every AriZona juice cocktail hits for me, but this just became one of my all-time favorite AriZona drinks. If you’re looking for a drinkable Dole Whip in a can, you’ll be buying this in bulk.
Cons: I can’t find the orange in this, but I’m not complaining. Maybe AriZona was worried producing just a Whipped Pineapple flavor would raise some eyebrows over at the Dole legal department. Also, not that I’m a sugar cop, but one full can of this drink is 88% of your recommended added sugars for the day. I’m all for a little treat, but this is legally a very large one.
