We tried a lot of frozen meals in 2025. Some were pretty tragic (Aldi, with love: we need to have a talk about your frozen appetizers). Most were perfectly acceptable. And then… there were a couple that made us pause mid-bite and look at each other like, “Wait, did this really come out of a box?” These are two frozen meals that deserve some serious spotlight.

Amy’s Cheese Enchilada

It’s important we acknowledge, first and foremost, how difficult it is to find good frozen enchiladas. As a team, we’ve been scarred—the sight of microwavable enchiladas puts some of us immediately into flight or fight. Now that you understand the stakes, Amy’s Cheese Enchiladas feel like a minor miracle. They’re gooey, saucy, and deeply comforting in the way only a cheesy combo-plate enchilada can be. Our favorite part is the corn tortilla itself, which retains its flavor and soft-yet-sturdy chew without dissolving into mush out of the microwave. The whole thing is a little oily, sure, but that’s part of the deal. For a frozen enchilada, this is as close to restaurant-good as we’ve found.

Patti’s Good Life Cajun Style Fettuccine Alfredo

Patti LaBelle has done it again; I’m actually not sure if we’ve ever tried a product under her label that we haven’t liked, now that I think about it. This isn’t your average frozen fettuccine alfredo, first and foremost because it comes in a huge platter-sized tray. But it’s the spicy Cajun seasoning that really stands out, turning an already egregiously decadent pasta dish into one of the most flavorful frozen meals out there. The sauce tastes slow-cooked and indulgent, like it’s been simmering on the stove for hours. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is better than most restaurant alfredos. Ever since I tried it, I’ve been dumping Cajun seasoning into all of my homemade alfredo pastas—that’s the kind of impression it left. The only real drawback is that if you stick to the oven-only method, it takes nearly an hour to cook, so we recommend microwaving first and then broiling for ten minutes to get that baked top. Either way, it’s worth every second of anticipation.
