After abstaining from alcohol for health reasons for the past year, I’ve become a mocktail snob. Some brands are too artificial, making their canned mocktails taste like plastic and sadness. But when a mocktail is properly made, it can taste better than the real thing. With so many brands catching up to the demand for non-alcoholic options, it can be tough to know what’s worth the money and what’s going to be disappointing. Whether you’re doing Dry January or are planning to be permanently sober, these are booze-free canned drinks that will not only be satisfying, but also won’t make you miss liquor.

Rose Hill Farm Sparkling Cider

There’s something about Rose Hill Farm’s sparkling cider that feels crisper and tastier than other brands. It’s not as sweet, helping it pair nicely with any meal.

Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher

The simplicity of Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher is what makes it so great (so great that it topped our best hopped water ranking). The sparkling hop water lives up to its name, as it’s pleasantly refreshing, with citrusy hops and notes of orange and grapefruit. It shines in its versatility: you can drink it on its own or turn it into a mocktail.

St. Agrestis Phony Negroni

While I’m not a big fan of Negronis, I am of St. Agrestis Phony Negroni. It’s slightly less bitter than a regular Negroni, made with Tuscan juniper, citrus, and florals that add depth to its flavor. It’s become one of the leading non-alcoholic cocktails because of its smooth, umami-rich taste profile.

SAVYLL Non-Alcoholic Mojito

The Mojito is a go-to for non-alcoholic beverage brands, but it’s often either too sweet or too artificial-tasting to accurately mimic the cocktail’s classic flavors of fresh mint and rum. SAVYLL’s Mojito is a notch above competing brands because it’s made with the same ingredients a bartender would use to craft one: white rum essence, fresh mint, and natural lime juice. No weird stuff, just an authentic Mojito without the booze.

I’ve always enjoyed a glass of white wine and have been on a quest to find a non-alcoholic sparkling white wine that pairs well with dinner. Wolffer Estate’s Blanc de Blancs is one of the best sparkling wines I’ve tried—and that’s counting alcoholic ones. It feel luxurious without breaking the bank at $20 a bottle.

Good Spirits Austin Palmer

I was skeptical going into trying Good Spirits’ version of a John Daly (an alcoholic Arnold Palmer). Wouldn’t that just be a regular iced tea with lemonade? I couldn’t have been more wrong. This sparkling non-alcoholic iteration of the easy-to-make cocktail is made with black tea and contains CBD, which adds a nice earthiness. It’s made with organic ingredients and free of the overly sugary taste of other mocktails. With a blend of 15mg CBD and 10mg CBG, it’s as relaxing as drinking a real cocktail, which is a major plus.

Lyre’s Amalfi Spritz

Lyre’s canned mocktails are a hit-or-miss for me, but its Amalfi Spritz is excellent. For those who prefer bitter drinks, the spritz delivers the bitterness with bittersweet orange, rhubarb, peach, and elderflower, transporting you to the Mediterranean from the comfort of your couch.
