Flashy new brands like Jeni’s and Van Leeuwen might drop new flavors every month, but the old guard is a little more frugal when it comes to new releases. So when a brand like Haagen-Dazs announces new flavors and products we take notice. Get your spoons ready for three new flavors and three new ice cream bars from Haagen-Dazs. Let’s break ‘em down.

New Haagen-Dazs Flavors:

Dark Cherry Truffle

“Cherry vanilla ice cream with cocoa truffles and swirls of sweet and tart cherry sauce.” As a huge Cherry Garcia fan, this new flavor sounds amazing to me. The key is going to be in that cherry sauce. It needs to actually be tart and it can’t be super gloopy.

Peanut Butter Brittle

“Peanut butter ice cream with praline peanuts and caramel peanut butter ripples.” I have long said there needs to be more peanut butter ice cream. I’m glad Haagen-Dazs heard my pleas—and went ahead and added some crunch. Plus, caramel peanut butter? Not sure what it is but I’m psyched to try it!

Coffee Almond Toffee

“Brazilian coffee ice cream with buttery toffee pieces and California almonds.” It’s essentially a scoopable version of the brand’s Coffee Almond Toffee Crunch Ice Cream Bars. Why not?!

New Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Bars:

Cherry Dark Chocolate Bar

“Cherry ice cream with cherry sauce swirls, dipped in dark chocolate.” The new cherry ice cream gets dipped in chocolate. Sounds great! Next!

Toasted Coconut Crunch Bar

“Coconut ice cream dipped in milk chocolate with caramelized coconut flakes and crunchy cone pieces.” I love the idea of cone pieces inside an ice cream bar. This sounds like it could be a textural wonderland, though it could also be a dentist’s nightmare if it’s not balanced.

Dulce de Leche Mini Bars

“Decadent dulce de leche ice cream wrapped in rich milk chocolate, made mini.” Haagen-Dazs’ Dulce de Leche ice cream is good but way, way too rich and sweet for my blood. This sounds like a great way to use it—as a little bite, with some crunchy chocolate to contrast a bit with the sweet ice cream.

When will these new Haagen-Dazs flavors and products be available?

Right now! You can get the 14oz pints for $6.99 and the 3ct bars for $6.49 wherever Haagen-Dazs products are sold. Run out and get them or stay tuned for the official Sporked review, coming soon.

About the Author

Justine Sterling

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
