It’s new chip season! First we heard about the flavor-swapping PepsiCo snacks. Then, Lay’s dropped two new Baked Lay’s flavors (a rarity for the brand). And now Kettle Brand is jumping into the fray with a duo of new flavors—and they’re bringing the heat.
What are the new Kettle Brand Chips flavors?
Kettle Brand Potato Chips just unveiled two new flavors that’ll spice up your Super Bowl party: Spicy Kimchi and Smoky Buffalo.
The Smoky Buffalo chips are described on Kettle Brand’s social media announcement as “a layered twist on a familiar favorite by blending bold heat with rich, smoky undertones—it’s anything but basic.” Meanwhile, Spicy Kimchi “delivers that craveable combo of tang, garlic, and heat—all wrapped up in a bold, crunchy bite.”
Are these new chips any good?
While Kettle Brand fans were excited about both, the Spicy Kimchi flavor got tons of praise from those who’ve already tried them. “I’ve had both. Spicy kimchi was amazing,” read a comment. Another commenter echoed this, writing, “Spicy kimchi sooo goood chefs.”
Some comments pointed out that adding the Smoky Buffalo flavor might be Kettle Brand’s way of making up to those who loved the now-discontinued fan-favorite Buffalo Bleu, which blended the heat of Buffalo sauce with a hint of blue cheese. However, this didn’t stop snackers from asking for Buffalo Bleu’s return. “Bring back Buffalo Bleu and make it permanent please and thank you!,” a commenter wrote.
When and where can we get these new Kettle chips?
Both new flavors are now available nationwide. On its site, Kettle Brand has a map showing where you can find each of the new potato chips, so you won’t miss out on these tasty, fresh additions to the brand’s lineup.
What else is new for Kettle?
These aren’t Kettle Brand’s only recent heat-based flavors. Last year, Kettle Brand debuted a limited-edition run of Chamoy chips, which were sweet and tangy, with a bit of spice from chile peppers. It was perfect for those who prefer those flavor profiles rather than salty and savory.
