Normally, I find my energy drinks at Dollar Tree. All the most wild and wacky caffeinated concoctions that didn’t sell at other stores wind up on the shelves at Dollar Tree for one last hoorah. It’s kind of like how you give your dog a steak dinner on his last night. Morbid and a little off topic, so let me rein things in…

Considering I’m talking about new energy drinks I actually can’t wait to try, let’s focus on the beginnings of that lifecycle. Energy drinks have to get started somewhere. Here are some fresh-to-the-market energy drinks that are coming to stores this spring. We’re counting down the days until we can get our grubby little taste-testing lips on them to try.
C4 Cherry Cola
Technically, this one’s already out, but we haven’t tried it yet so it still counts. I’m a big sucker for cherry cola so they’ve already got me sold on this one. Hopefully it has all the same flavors with just a buttload more caffeine in true energy drink fashion!
Red Bull Summer Edition (Sudachi Lime)
Sudachi is a Japanese citrus fruit that’s very similar to lime, so this seems a little redundant. Either way, I think it’ll be exciting! A bright, citrusy lime Red Bull sounds refreshing enough that you might even forget you’re drinking an energy drink loaded with synthetic taurine and caffeine. Expect to see this in stores in the next coming weeks.
Alani Cotton Candy Grape
Not just grape, cotton candy grape! It’s hard to imagine how they’ll pull off this flavor profile in an energy drink, Cotton candy grapes are meant to mimic the taste of actual cotton candy, so how will the grape then play into things? Will they add both cotton candy and grape flavoring to the drink? We’ll find out when we get this in June!
Ghost Sour Strips Rainbow
This one’s for the real energy drink drinkers out there. It takes a certain kind of person to not be turned off at the idea of a drink filled to the brim with caffeine and so sour it’ll set your teeth on edge. Why’s it on our list of drinks we can’t wait to try? Consider it the call of the void. This one’s so out-there that I can’t help but want to test it out. Yes, our very own Tyler Bowers gave it a middling review when it hit stores for a limited time last fall, but sometimes you just have to experience the roller coaster that’s making everyone puke for yourself.
Ghost x A&W Root Beer
Root beer but with caffeine! We tried and loved Ghost’s other soft drink collab with 7UP so we have high hopes for this one. Perhaps the strong flavor of A&W will have the same balancing effect on the bitterness all that caffeine will be bringing to the mix. We’ve got some time to ponder this one as it won’t actually be out in stores until September.
