Snacks and drinks might get all the splashy press releases and Insta buzz, but baking brands aren’t slouching when it comes to new, fun products. Here are eight new baking mixes that I—someone who loves to bake but is bad at following a from-scratch baking recipe—am psyched to try.

Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chip Brownie Mix

Ghirardelli makes great brownie mixes—they make some of the best brownie mixes in our opinion—but until now they’ve only made brownie mixes for dark chocolate lovers. Now, Ghirardelli is giving milk chocolate lovers’ something to get excited about with their new Milk Chocolate Chip brownie mix. I used to pretend to like dark chocolate more to sound cool, but I’m done with that part of my life. Bring on the milk chocolate chip brownies!

Betty Crocker Soft-Baked Cookie Mix Lemon Crinkle

This limited edition cookie mix may have dropped in January, but it sounds springy as hell. It makes big, soft, lemony cookies that seem like they could rival Crumbl’s oversized weekly offerings

Duncan Hines Crumble Bar Mix in Blueberry and Strawberry

I would never attempt to make a berry crumble bar at home. Too many components! But these new mixes from Duncan Hines make it possible. You can choose either blueberry or strawberry, and reviews have been super positive, with people praising the mixes’ simplicity.

Jiffy Hot Honey Corn Muffin Mix

Jiffy’s first new mix in over six years, this sweet and spicy corn muffin mix sounds like an awesome breakfast or side with fried chicken and collards. It should be dropping soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Pillsbury Funfetti Swirl Cake

As if Funfetti wasn’t festive enough, Pillsbury has introduced an all new tie-dye inspired Funfetti Swirl cake mix. You get pink, purple, and blue swirls. And that’s just plain fun.

Beautiful x Milk Bar Buttercream Shortbread Mix

Made in collaboration with Drew Barrymore (for her birthday!) this new mix from Milk Bar creates something surprisingly simple: shortbread. In a world of Funfetti swirl, sometimes simple is what you want. And the bars on the packaging look incredible.

Betty Crocker M&M’s Fudgy Blondie Mix

I think M&M’s make everything better. And blondies seem like a no-brainer. Plus, fudgy blondies? Sounds like square chunks of dough with M&M’s. Yum.

About the Author

Justine Sterling

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
