Blue Bell is no stranger to adventurous products – you only have to look at its recent Brookie A La Mode or the return of its Dr. Pepper ice cream to see that – but it also knows the value of keeping things old-school. A lot of its best flavors put classic ingredients and tastes front and center, and in doing so, keep its fans very happy. And, every now and again, it brings one of these flavors back for another spin, sending folks everywhere into a state of rapture.

Well, it’s done that again. Blue Bell has just revived its Tin Roof flavor, which first appeared back in the ‘80s and which has held a place in the hearts of ice cream lovers ever since. Here’s what you need to know.
What is Blue Bell Tin Roof ice cream?
Blue Bell’s Tin Roof is far from shy and retiring, and that’s what people love about it. This flavor is a combination of vanilla ice cream with a chocolate sundae sauce and dark chocolate-covered roasted peanuts. It’s got a vintage vibe, but also a sense of ambition to it that we see, respect, and enjoy.
Tin Roof first debuted in Blue Bell’s lineup in 1980 (although the flavor itself has been around since the 1930s in the hands of other ice cream manufacturers), and it remained a fixture of its product range for decades before being discontinued in 2019. It has popped up periodically in the years since, but now it’s making an official comeback. Crucially, though, this is only for a limited time: Blue Bell hasn’t indicated when it’ll disappear again, but all we know is that it will, so don’t drag your feet on this one. You can find a store near you selling Tin Roof using the store locator on the Blue Bell website.
What are the fans saying about the return of Tin Roof?
News of Tin Roof’s return has been received warmly by Blue Bell fans, who just a few weeks ago were taking to the internet to pray for it to make another appearance. “I really hope they bring back this flavor for summer 2026; is there any indication that it will be back? Or is it staying “in the vault” until they decide to bring it out again?” said a Reddit user, who we can only assume is now punching the air with joy.
Will you be buying Tin Roof this time around? Will Blue Bell be making a protein version of this ice cream? Do you detest roasted peanut and chocolate sundae sauce, and if so, can you tell us why? We have so many questions! Until they’re all answered, we’ll be bringing you more news of Blue Bell’s releases as they come.
