America’s (and Sporked’s) favorite frozen pierogi brand, Mrs. T, just released new tiny “snack pierogies” out into the wild to try to make a name for themselves in the frozen snack world. They come in four flavors: Cheddar Sour Cream & Onion, Five Cheese, Cheddar Ranch Seasoned with Bacon, and Jalapeño Popper, and beyond their unique stature, they’re a little different than you would expect. Why?

You aren’t meant to boil and then pan-fry these on the stove. The bags have no instructions for that—instead, they’re meant to be air-fried or baked. You’re supposed to drizzle some olive oil over them, shake ‘em a bit, and toss it in the oven for a little over ten minutes.
And look, because these new flavors don’t taste that different from each other, I’ll give some quick thoughts on each, plus an overall verdict at the end. Also, big disclaimer: I wasn’t able to try the Jalapeño Popper flavor. We couldn’t find it, sorry! But here’s what we thought of the others… and whether or not this baking and/or air-frying method actually works for frozen pierogies.

My overall verdict:
These are a cute after-school snack and kinda fun for a casual party platter, but true pierogi lovers might find them disdainful. I rated them fairly because I did enjoy eating them, simple as that. But objectively, their texture, both inside and out, doesn’t lend itself to success. Don’t skip the olive oil part—that helps immensely, And try not to let these thaw outside the freezer for too long. They’ll refreeze stuck together, and lemme tell ya, they’re impossible to pull apart.
