Wendy's New Free Merch Drops Are A Must For Fans

‘Tis the season to be merch-y. Fa la la la la, la la la la. Forgive me for paraphrasing a Christmas song there, but we’re knee-deep in that time of the year when merch is appearing left, right, and center, and that’s always pretty fun. In the last few weeks alone, we’ve covered Dr Pepper’s new Creamy Coconut merch drop, Starbucks’ new summer merch, and the news that Starbucks might be bringing its Bearista cup back (so you might want to prepare yourself for the crowds). Now, it’s Wendy’s turn, as the chain brings us a selection of curated merch items. And they’re free.

Here’s the catch, though: You have to be a Wendy’s Rewards member to get them – and you have to move quickly. Here’s what you need to know.

Wendy’s Merch: Member’s Only

Wendy’s new Reward Drops are the latest way for it to, ahem, reward loyalty to the brand. Each Wednesday for the next couple of weeks (from May 13 to June 3) at 3:00pm ET/2:00pm CT, the restaurant will be giving its Wendy’s Rewards members the chance to claim free, limited-edition merch through its app. It’s worth mentioning that you can’t buy this merch anywhere else – so it really is a limited-edition vibe.

As for the merch you can get, and when you can get it, here’s what’s up for grabs:

Week 1 (May 13): Wendy’s Tote Bag: A delightful blue-and-white pinstripe foldable bag, decorated with pictures of the iconic Wendy’s Frosty. Okay, look, we know this one has come and gone – but think of this in a kind of, “here’s what you could have won” way.
Week 2 (May 20): Wendy’s Charm Bracelet: Wendy’s is giving out three different charm bracelets here, with Fresh, Never Frozen Hamburgers, Frosty & Fries or Spicy Chicken themes. The charms are very cute.
Week 3 (May 27): Wendy’s F.C. Soccer Jersey: I mean, it’s World Cup season, would you expect anything less? This one’s a soccer jersey with Wendy’s branding. It’s for the mega-fans.
Week 4 (June 3): Canon Powershot G7X Mark III Digital Camera: Now this is the one we’re excited for. Wendy’s is giving away a limited number of Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III Digital Cameras in the restaurant’s livery.

How Do I Get ‘Em?

Well, first off, we should say that these go fast. People who went through the first drop on Reddit reported that they were put in waiting rooms, or that they missed the merch even though they entered the second they could. So you’ll need a fast finger when they drop, wherever you are.

Aside from that, though, you’ll need to download the Wendy’s app and create a Rewards account. Then, opt into push notifications and/or email/SMS alerts. You’ll get a link to the entry page each week, and then you have to go to the link at the time the merch hits. Godspeed, folks.
