Everyone’s got a FIFA collaboration these days, and POWERADE is no different. This silver-medal sports drink has three brand-new flavors on shelves now. It’s been a while since I ranked every POWERADE flavor; let’s see if these new additions to the lineup were worth kicking around.
- POWERADE Blood Orange Kick Review
-
Pros: I’m on record saying blood orange should be more popular as a beverage flavor, and this is just more evidence for that movement. The sodium content in sports drinks is far less noticeable when paired with a fruit flavor on the edge of tart bitterness. If any of these flavors are going to stick around for good after this huge soccer summer, I hope it’s this one.
Cons: “Kick” has a flavor connotation that just isn’t present here; this drink is many things, but spicy isn’t one of them. Blood Orange Breakaway feels more appropriate both in terms of soccer vibes and how this drink “breaks away “from” the existing pack of POWERADE flavors.

- POWERADE White Grape Wave Review
-
Pros: In a space crowded with artificial purple grape options, this new POWERADE is figuratively and literally refreshing. In terms of flavor strength, this is definitely smoother than the tart Blood Orange Kick. Depending on what you’re buying a hydration drink for, that easy-drinking factor may make White Grape Wave far more appealing.
Cons: Some people might find this underwhelming. If that’s you, please reconsider how often you’re blasting your taste buds with enough flavor to kill a Revolutionary War soldier.

- POWERADE Cold Berry Burst Review
-
Pros: Much like Sprite Chill, this absolutely “tastes” cold despite being at room temperature. Considering POWERADE is a distant cousin to Sprite Chill under the Coca-Cola umbrella, it isn’t a huge swing to suggest these drinks may share some DNA. Dare I say it, this is a better representation of “Cool Blue” as a flavor concept than the original.
Cons: I enjoyed this drink, but I have the least to say about it. After two fantastic flavors, “good” isn’t that distinguished.
