Crumbl is in full summer swing with their flavor rollouts and this week is no different. With their weekly menu revamps, you never can tell what kind of unique flavors and designs they may introduce. This week really took the cake with treats like a mini Key Lime Cheesecake, the Molten Lava Cake, and the Sandy Beach Banana Pudding Cup. But the most standout of the traditional cookies that hit the menu this week was the Beach Bum Cookie―to me, at least.

The cookie is made with a graham cookie and a light blue honey cream cheese frosting. It’s supposed to look like a little Teddy Graham is lounging in a gummy peach ring on the sea of frosting, all under a paper parasol. So, naturally, we were sold on the look. But, is the cookie any good? And, is the decoration actually executed well? That’s what we’re here for and this is what we think.
Beach Bum Review
Pros ― Above all, this cookie is fabulously adorable. I saw it in person and audibly said, “aw!” It’s actually executed well and paints a full enough picture that it draws you in to see if it’s just as delicious as it is precious. It’s nostalgic, kitschy, and earns some bonus points for the extra sweet snacks on top! It’s nice, also, that Crumbl only made one element of the complex decoration inedible, and even then, it’s just the paper parasols of childhood summer dreams.
Cons ― Honestly, I really wanted this cookie to be delicious since it had sold me with its looks. And it’s not bad. But it’s egregiously sweet and one note. The cream cheese frosting is apparently made with honey, but you can’t tell in the slightest. And there isn’t enough of a distinct flavor in the cookie itself for that blandness to really be made up for. The graham cracker cookie also has a very dense, almost gummy-like consistency. It’s the kind of cookie texture that doesn’t benefit from a thick layer of frosting on top. A kid who wanted this cookie for the look probably wouldn’t be disappointed with the taste. It’s sweet, buttery, and has a nice hit of cream cheese. What it desperately needs is balance and complexity.
The Final Verdict
This cookie, overall, is far from the worst I’ve seen from Crumbl. But the fantastically cute decoration covers a world of flavor shortcomings. There’s a time and place for this cookie, but if you’re there looking for big flavor and great cookie texture, then I’d suggest you skip this cookie in favor of one of the other exciting launches this week.
